Subject: I need help with DOAnimEyes for V3! =)

Starrydance ( ) posted Fri, 15 August 2003 at 8:12 AM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 9:49 PM

Ive loaded this, DOAnimEyes for V3, several times. Its a freebie from here on Renderosity. But I cant get it to render! Also, when I open the + Mat files in Poser 5, in the Poses section, there are no preview images. So basically, its not working at all and just taunting me with its beautifulness. Im using V3, with nothin on her, Poser 5, and this file and still no luck. Any help would be <3, thanks! =)

Hmm it is strange.. I tested them on a friend's Poser4+propack. Of course a model such as Vicky 3 took ages to render on hi machine and Poser4 but it worked. Also there are not many changes/difference between th V3 version and the other character versions (only the texture directory and the material call changes in pz2 files) So i dont see what happens to you yet.. but i'll try to look for it. Also you ae the first one to complain.. so either you are unlucky and there is something wrong, or most people who got it were too shy to tell me about it too :( For what i see in teh package, the folders are in the correct hierarchy.. Did you try to manually open/apply the texture to both v3 eyes materials ? Also the textures are very highres, and maybe it is because of that. try to resize by half one texture and try to apply it manually and keep me informed, while i make investigations msyelf. thanx for report ! '(next time send me an instant message on renderosity, i do not often remember to check forums)

Hmm i asked my friend to download again the package, delete the old one i brought at his place (beta), and install this one instead. He told me the preview thumbs were corrupted and blurred, but in fact, deleting either the .png files or the .rsr ones solved this problem.. after that he rendered a simple shot of V3 with them... seems no problem on Propack but as i do not know anyone with poser5 i cannot help you more :(

I have Poser 5, so I downloaded this to test it out. Some weird things happened. Here's my findings: None of the .rsr loaded, they just came up with a blank circle. I loaded a fresh V3 and applied the Amethyst pose. In the preview pane, her eyes changed colour - so far so good. Went to draft render, the eyes came out colourless - like there was a cataract over them. Loaded a different light set to see if it was a matter of reflected light. Poser hung on draft render. Had to close application. Restarted Poser and loaded another blank V3 and applied the amethyst pose again. Again got the colour change in preview but colourless on render. Loaded a different light set. Crashed on render again. Restarted and loaded one of my custom V3-based characters. Loaded "emerald" texture. Preview fine, render - fine! Wow! Loaded "amethyst" pose and again it previewed and rendered fine. Went to change light-set from Poser default, it has now hung on render again! Just restarted and again gone with V3-custom char and amethyst pose. It's rendered fine in both draft and production firefly. Now I have tweaked one of the lights' position and it again renders ok. OK now tried it again with a DNA Free light and again it renders ok... Now tried it with the first lightset I tried and again it has hung! Very very strange and I'm afraid I don't have any idea of why this should happen!

By the way, this is the colourless render I got with the fresh V3 figure.

Thats exactly what I got, thanks for making it much clearer. Ill try it with a V3 character (other than default), I dont really care for V3 anyways. Im sorry for posting here, didnt think I should just message you~. I was just worried I installed it wrong, Ill play with it more later and see if I can get it to work at all. Thanks for testing it guys =).

well i am afraid my knowledge of poser is limited and i cannot help you to solve this :( I intensively make them tested on a poser propack, without trouble. Poser 5 seems to be lmuch more complex and less tolerant. for the bad preview thumbnails it seems either my png or my rsr are corrupted in the present package (though i used p3do wuith plugin) but you can delete one kind (i thing deleting png will work better) and "voila" :( sorry not to be able to help you more :( i still am interested into any feedback and "poser guru" advice and opinion on this...

Well I still have Poser ProPack laying around, Ill load it up and see if it works there alright. And it might just be V3, Ill check with custom V3 and Maya Later =).

I do not have webstorage host (last free host on which i dared try the sligthest attempt of file storage burned my whole site) but I went to my friend's place myself, usb stick in hand, to test it myself on his propack... i have a rendered raw picture but cannot post it here :( anyway i saw it work. But i admit: there is a problem with the thumbnails in the actual package, but i do not see why (maybe that there are both .png and .rsr in the archvie and poser5 got mad at this :) tell me if you manage to get it work on a propack yourself

There are some fiddly issues with mats in P5 and I suspect that may be the problem here. Hopefully someone with more experience than I can help. (I have P5 but mainly use P4/Pro Pack.

Riddokun ( ) posted Sat, 16 August 2003 at 5:50 AM

hmm oki so P5 do not exactly work same than P4/P4propack that could explain all I'll redo all MAT files with MAT POSE EDIT f possible and send them to you , starry dance for testing (as i know noone who have poser5) and we'll see if it works. OBviously the textures themselves work, i will just zip the pose MAT files then and the .rsr just to be sure.. but it'll take me time sorry
