What are the Virtual Memory settings usually recomended? Size? Should I alocate a discreete partition on my hard disk for it? Any recomendations welcome. Thanks

Usually 1.5 time your RAM. Personally i gave it a whole partition to work on that way it doesn't fragment the drive all that much since it has it's own drive to play with.

Is it a partition on the same physical drive where Windows and PS are installed or best on a second (slave) Disk?

Don't think it really matters as long as you have the space.

Os's and hard drives are much better/faster than they used to be, YET...if you can at all, have you virtual memory on a seperate hard drive. This way, your computer can access say Bryce on your (main) C drive, and your virtual memory on another hard drive (D) at the same exact time, thus increasing some of your performance. Otherwise, even if your virtual memory is on a seperate partition but on the same hard drive as your Bryce program, your computer/hard rive can only access one area at a time. (back and forth) I take it a step further; I have 3 hard drives. One for my OS only, one for the installation of my programs, and another for my virtual memory. That way, if my cpu needs to, it can acces all three points simultaneously, much better performance overall. Also, if you can...use hard drives that are 7200rpm and have a buffer of 8Mb, this will defenitely improve the performance of Bryce in opening/saving time! Just fyi. AS

Good point AS, never really thought of that.

Is there someplace that explains how to do that AS?

Uhm, which part, or all of it? I'll look, there should be somewhere that does... AS
