Yeah actually there is a tutorial for this. I think it's at castironflamingo.com but I'm not 100% sure. If that url isn't right, then you should be able to find the tutorial here with the search function. I got things to work in the version 3 beta but IIRC the tutorial was written for v2 so you should be fine. As far as your export settings, I don't think it'll really matter--the tutorial was on the PC using a utility called Grouper prior to exporting the models. Meanwhile I'm on a Mac w/o the Grouper utility and it worked fine for me. Basically it involves not only the transparency map but also setting up an opacity layer. Anyway the tutorial is pretty easy to follow.
Hi, I was having problems with importing poser figures into carrara also. Check out this site below. After going through the tutorial all of my poser to carrara problems have been solved. Especially read the section on using the free "grouper tool". http://www.castironflamingo.com/tutorial/index.html

It there a Poser to Carrara tutorial that is step by step? Im having some difficulties with transparency, as everyone else is, and, while very appreciated, the screen caps that show the material settings are only somewhat helpful. Why is that? Because I think I may have set something different in the export settings in Poser, and my import settings may be different in Carrara. So when I look at the butterfly transparency picture, Im not quite sure how to apply that in my situation.
If there isnt a tutorial, I, with your help, would like to make one for the Carrara Backroom. Why there isnt one already, I dont know, or maybe I just cant find it. I have 90 days to evaluate my 2.1 demo before I decide to buy, and I would love to do so.
Regards,
E
