Subject: For those who have M3 beta... I have a favor to ask

fauve ( ) posted Sun, 17 August 2003 at 1:12 PM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 7:09 AM

Would someone who has M3 mind posting a close-up shot of the throat/neck area, front and side? I have absolutely no gripes with M3's head -- or where the source polys for it did or didn't come from -- but I would like to know if this guy has a visible Adam's apple. (The V3 male doesn't.)

Jim Burton ( ) posted Sun, 17 August 2003 at 2:14 PM

Actually, by the terms of the Non-Disclosue Agreement (I think, IANAL) this can't be done. Nor can anyone say anything about the figure at all who has aggreed to this. PS- A littlke birdie told me he does ;-)

fauve ( ) posted Sun, 17 August 2003 at 2:49 PM

Thanks, Jim! :-) I figured it might be okay to ask for a render, since I've seen some artists already posting pictures using M3 in the different forums, but I don't want anyone to break the rules. It's not such a burning issue that I can't wait. I'm glad to hear what your little bird said, though. Maybe when M3 is released, I can figure out a way to port that Adam's apple over to the V3 male. (Yes, I know I'm overly obsessed with a minor anatomical detail, but dammit, it just doesn't look right.)

Jim ... Non-Disclosue Agreement? I don't saw any.. did you sign one? you can't share any data files but nothing was regarding renders.. so or so there are people that told everything on the first day so I do.. Dan said in own last message that here are not secrets.. and Regarding you question fauve.. M3 have visible Adam's apple and the neck area is great done as never before..

fauve ( ) posted Sun, 17 August 2003 at 3:59 PM

Excellent!!! Thanks, Catharina! Can't wait to get my hands on this one... :-)

There was a little thing at the beginning of the installer "By clicking on this you agree to the above", but to tell the truth I didn't actually read it, I just assumed it was the regular non-disclosure aggreement kinda stuff. ;-) Mike 3 is going to be a great figure, I can say that!

DraX ( ) posted Sun, 17 August 2003 at 5:27 PM

Going to be? He already is! (Or at least what we've seen of him) BTW, Jim, are you quite sure about that NDA? I don't recall an actual installer.

Me either .. I got a zip and there is no documentation attached. He has a lovely manly neck :) Including the drag queen's give away ;)

fauve ( ) posted Sun, 17 August 2003 at 6:24 PM

AHHHH!!! Lookit, lookit!!! jumps up and down in glee Thank you, Xena!!!! I'm serious, that's why so many people keep saying that the V3 Male looks too "feminine" or what have you... it's the reverse of the drag queen's giveaway. The subliminal jar of not seeing an Adam's apple is throwing them off. V3 makes a great-looking guy -- just the Vincents from RDNA and Dalinese show that V3 can be morphed into a very masculine-looking "man". But if you don't postwork in an Adam's apple, he just looks... off. Can't wait for M3!!

Catharina Przezak ( ) posted Sun, 17 August 2003 at 7:10 PM

Xena.. I got zip too without nothing as M3 + UV so thanks for your message. Jim it was not my intention to invert your words...you are right but I don't got the same as you..so we both have right here..:) please don't mad at me..

Grey_cat ( ) posted Sun, 17 August 2003 at 7:28 PM

There is nothing wrong with V3 male not having a promenade adams apple. Some men have a very promenade adams apple, some men (like me) don't.

Marque ( ) posted Sun, 17 August 2003 at 7:40 PM

Why couldn't someone either create a morph for V3 or use magnets? Just curious. Marque

fauve ( ) posted Sun, 17 August 2003 at 7:46 PM

It's not that it isn't prominent, Grey_cat... it's that it's non-existent. There is no change in the throat from V3 to V3 Male (not that I have been able to find, and I've been all through the male morph injectors.) Some men have very prominent Adam's apples, some have very slight, but all men have one. No women do. So it's a basic visual cue for gender. Marque, I started working on doing one with magnets, but I haven't really had time to goof around with it much. Now that I see how good the structure of M3's neck looks, I will probably just wait until M3 is out and figure out a way to incorporate his neck into the V3 male instead. Because I'm lazy that way. :-)

Marque ( ) posted Sun, 17 August 2003 at 8:04 PM

He is pretty cool to work with but I will still be using the V3 male as I have so many packs for him/her. So don't give up on the morph. 8^) Marque

PapaBlueMarlin ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 1:36 AM

I have a silly question. Will there be crosstalk problems between the injection morph paks for M3 and V3?

DraX ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 2:23 AM

I doubt it... but I don't have all the details just yet...

fretshredder ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 9:59 AM

color me excited! Mesh...schmesh, M3 look mighty cool keep rockin' /gz

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 10:36 AM

Haven't seen any yet PapaBlue, I think that's why you can't use the V3 morphs with him, to prevent that problem. Marque

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 10:51 AM

Don't know if it's permissable to show a pic of them with their own morphs and different poses, but I just checked again and there doesn't appear to be any crosstalk between the two of them, if I pose one the other maintains their own pose. Marque

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 10:53 AM

If you have permission from Daz you can post renders, I just haven't because I was waiting until he is released, but wanted to answer your question. I am not creating anything to sell with him and I am not pushing him for Daz. Marque

Jim Burton ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 9:08 PM

If DAZ uses the same names for FBMs he will crosstalk with V3, if they use the same names for the empty injector channels the V3 morphs will inject (but not work properly, or at all, if the geometry is different). Obviously they should use other names!
