Ops! I vas just about to purchase P5 but discovered that the price are different, much higher in Europe than in US. Im in Europe, Sweden. Why is it in this way? Are the prices in Europe to get decrees soon? Is its legal to have a friend in USA to purchase it for me, and chipping it over?

The price difference on the upgrades depends on the VAT, that we have to pay in Europe, but if I remember correctly the difference for a new licence is much bigger. You could always try to have an American friend buy the program for you. If you're lucky the customs don't check the parcel, otherwise you get to pay ...

Curious Labs has also explained that they have distributors in Europe and they don't want to drive them out of business by offering a lower price online than the distributors sells it for in the stores in Europe... I'm in Sweden too, and of course you can have a US friend buy it there and ship it to Europe. There is always a risk that the customes open the package, finds an expensive software in there and charges you for VAT and customs as well as a hefty administrative fine for handling the paperwork... Your friend is required to declare the content truthfully when sending it, but if he/she puts "gift" on the customs declaration and "value = 0", it might or might not slip through. But then we are in a grey area, legally speaking...

Take it out of the packaging, I'd say.
