Hi all I'm making a game with carrara3 and Amapi 7. I just wanted to show a few of the renders. I also found a very cool program to make your own myst-like games with at: www.adventuremaker.com It's only 29 bux..there are some free games there to check out. The only downside is that it works on windows only. I cant decide whether to try to make the game with flash, director, or adventuremaker. It'd be a lot easier (and cooler) with adventuremaker. :) BT

Very nice, Are these C3 renders?

Very Nice Brycetech. Have you thought about using REALbasic? They have a Windows version out now and it can compile to Mac OS9/OSX, Windows, and soon Linux. I think for a point and click adventure it wouldn't be too hard to write in REALbasic. Regardsm

The scenes are great. Like 19th century London, Sherlock Holmes atmosphere.

These are great images. Brycetech hope the game is a success. Mike

the game idea isnt anything new, there is an html version of driven (the original) at my site (http://www.brycetech.com/) This will be a follow up to that game. and yep, these are c3 renders with most of the modeling done in Amapi. The lamps are imports from somewhere (dont know where I got them cause I spent several weeks rounding up models from the net) if anyone is interested in making this kind of game yourself, I very highly recommend adventuremaker. Its a KA program. I have flashMX so I think I have decided to make the thing in that so that it can be cross platform so that mac folks can play it as well. It's intended to be a "this is what you can do with carrara and amapi" kind of thing. This kind of game could even be marketed if one was of the notion to do so. Adventure games like Myst, Riven, Pyst, and the like have quite a loyal following (if they are good). I havent heard of realBASIC, I'll have to look at it. as for game stats, this one area on the outside has 95 images (not counting animations like doors opening, moving things around etc) and then there are tons of inside renders..and thats just for this area alone. Carrara3 renders this kind of thing quickly (in comparison to other apps) so the majority of time will be spent coding and setting up scenes. But it will give me something to do when Im not busy. I hope to include the full version on the amapi pro tutorial cd and to have a small flash version available for play on the internet. :) BT

Cool stuff. Glad you're doing the MX thing for us Mac-heads. ;)
