Subject: Looking for an extractor utility

Mason ( ) posted Wed, 20 August 2003 at 10:28 PM · edited Fri, 31 January 2025 at 3:06 AM

I'm looking for any utility that will basically find all components of a character (obj, textures, etc), copy them to a mirrored sub directory that I can zip up for transfer. The old extractor tool was great but doesn't appear to work at all for P5. Thanks for any help.

I can rig up such a gadget quickly in Python. What seems to be the problem with P5 files? Is it the compression (CRZ) or something else?

I will be appreciate greatly if you can tell me where to find that 'old' extractor. Thanks.

Well the old tool sits for a while but does not show the required objs, textures etc for the cr2. I can put a tool together, I was just hoping there was an improved one out there. I saw the store has tools for sale that will make a list of files and perhaps I can use one of those. The old tool was great cause it would copy all the resources to a new folder for just that figure.

I went ahead and started on it. Should be done later today, so don't spend your time on it just yet.......

That's great Ockham. I'm so tied up at work right now I don't have spare time to work on that at all. Thanks

Okay, I've rigged up three separate scripts for CR2, PP2, PZ3. They work well on my P4 setup, but I suspect they will not work right with bank-switched P5 setups.

So here they are...... Try them and
report back on success, failure,
suggestions. Do you want separate
listings for bump, refl, tex?
