"Corel will seek final approval for the deal on Thursday from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, which had mandated the shareholder vote. If court approval is granted, the acquisition is expected to be completed next week, Corel said." Well, it looks like a done deal for the most part. It would be nice to know what, if anything, will be done with Bryce. I ain't holding my breath though....
Links to all the other -Corel is being sold- Bryce posts from the past couple weeks... http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=107&Form.ShowMessage=1396203 http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=107&Form.ShowMessage=1393638 http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=107&Form.ShowMessage=1386839 I'm sure if for any reason the court ruling did NOT uphold the final sharholders vote to sell, the news would have reported it, and I haven't seen anything anywhere, so I'm pretty sure it went through (as of yesterday), and the final planned transactions for Vector Capital owning Corel will be finished by this coming Monday. (in 3 days) And, that will be that. AgentSmith

I'm sure making money is always an issue, yet; Taking it down to $80 would be a retort to e-on taking Vue down to $99 for Bryce users, since Bryce and Vue are direct competitors, they have to be kinda neck and neck price-wise. This would be an obvious draw to B4 users who had not upgraded and/or even brand new users, who would pick up B5 for a steal. Money/profit was (unfortunately) also the issue when they dropped support of Mac's, and what seems to be foreign language. (I'm assuming) They are financially streamlining Bryce. From a purely business standpoint, sure I can see all that, I just hope that when VC brings Corel back into the black, they at the very least re-instate Bryce for Mac's. If it all ends up good in the end (with a B6), these are the days we will look back and laugh about... AgentSmith

I don't think that we will see a Bryce 6 from Corel. Don't forget about many coders too leaving Corel. For a product like Bryce you need some very tough specialists with creative mind and fuzzy ideas. If you not have such and let the normal bread and butter coders make it you end up with a standard windows looking tool without any imaginative concepts. Greetings Thomas
Coders left Corel probably because they were laid off, back when Corel got rid of like half its work force. Coders can be re-hired. Well, that will be the whole new point to this buyout. All the old things they did, will not be the new things that they will do, since it will not be Corel running the show anymore. Ah, in the end it just comes down to wait and see. sigh AS
