first attempts at challenge. Is this sort of thing acceptable??

antevark ( ) posted Sun, 24 August 2003 at 5:04 PM

Yup. Completely acceptable. It's got the tree, and that's all it needs. Good work on the leaves.

tjohn ( ) posted Sun, 24 August 2003 at 5:06 PM

Very acceptable in my opinion, looks like someone took a photo while sitting on a high limb in a tree. Great idea and point of view!

This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

Oh bugger cos that causes a real problem now as theres about 6 diff versions of this and i can't decide which way to go.

antevark ( ) posted Sun, 24 August 2003 at 5:10 PM

Print 'em out, stick 'em on and a wall, get out the darts and close your eyes.

it could get as bad as that. this any better

antevark ( ) posted Sun, 24 August 2003 at 5:18 PM

I actually like the firt one better, dunno why.

antevark ( ) posted Sun, 24 August 2003 at 5:20 PM

first*

kestrelrise ( ) posted Sun, 24 August 2003 at 5:22 PM

Any restriction how many for comp as narrowing down to 2

antevark ( ) posted Sun, 24 August 2003 at 5:23 PM

One entry maximum. The idea is that if you're only allowed one, you'll spend more time on it.

kestrelrise ( ) posted Sun, 24 August 2003 at 5:24 PM

That makes sense cheers for help

Swade ( ) posted Sun, 24 August 2003 at 7:32 PM

I would probably go with the first one as well. 8)

Ok guess I'm odd person out on this one. I don't know why, but I like the second one better. I think its because its monotone? Both are very nice, I love the mist effect. Ang

Rayraz ( ) posted Mon, 25 August 2003 at 2:37 AM

I like the second one much better, both the shapes of the leaves and the monotone. I also like the sun-position better in the second one. I like this a lot. Perfect in it's simplicity. Maybe add some very soft (as in blurred) lightrays through the leaves if that's possible (would probably be very hard with only the sun though). I'd love to see a render with some higher RPP and a higher res.

Nice wip. Looks good either way. -SeaC-

Jausse ( ) posted Mon, 25 August 2003 at 1:56 PM

The second one is much better. The first one hasn't got enough leaves, and I prefer the colour palette of the second. Josselin

I like the one you posted! Tres

Fractals will always amaze me!

kestrelrise ( ) posted Mon, 25 August 2003 at 3:06 PM

catlin_mc ( ) posted Mon, 25 August 2003 at 3:34 PM

no 3 bites the dust

catlin_mc ( ) posted Mon, 25 August 2003 at 4:51 PM

I like the pov in this one, and the color adds drama to the image.

antevark ( ) posted Mon, 25 August 2003 at 5:47 PM

Hmm... Still #1, I think. The silvery atmosphere in that one is really well done. This one looks a little too saturated, IMHO.

Rayraz ( ) posted Tue, 26 August 2003 at 5:00 AM

I still like the 2nd one better :)
