Subject: blend over two layers...

hello... i'm new to photoshop and wanted to know wheter there ist something like the "object transparency tool" as existing in corel photo paint? which means i take two pics put them in two different layers (objects in corel) and then can blend them together - which means on the right side there's one an the left there's another one and they are fading into each other... with no cutted edge in the middle... can anyone help? thanks a lot christian to show my "result".... just two faces blenden into eachother...

look for the keywords layer mask in the photoshop help files.

The mask should be in the top layer. Where there is black the bottom layer will show through, where there is white it won't. Everything in between has its own value. You can make straight blends, by using a gradient, or use any paint tool (and/or filter for that matter) in the mask. Oh. You can make a layer mask by selecting the layer and clicking the small square with the dotted circle, on the bottom of the 'layer' tab. Hope this helps...
