It is an incremental update SWAMP...which means you have to install the 4.12 update before the 4.2 update :-) CheersÂ

--------------- A life?! Cool!! Where do I download one of those?---------------
I tried it. Wonderful... :) I did a quickie Don and Judy in P5, out of the P5 runtime, did the import and with only one glitch it went perfectly. For some reason the couple was embedded in the terrain I had plopped down, and couldn't be seperated from it. But deleting the terrain solved that one, and I may have done something in my haste. Then I bopped over to P4 and did an import of Sixus1's battle buggy from the P4 runtime. All I got there was the ordnance load. Haven't checked to see if this is model specific or not, but the import does seem to work for both Poser apps. After a little sleep, I plan on trying a full set of tests to see what is what (and to see just what effects will transfer over from the shader nodes in P5...) But so far, it looks promising!
Impressive, 4.20 finally has put an end to all Poser imports, VUE goes through the motions, even asks for texture files it can't see, the progressbar shows progress but in the end nothing is imported. This already happened in 4.12 with very large PZ3's but in 4.20 no PZ3 are imported, P4 PPro or P5 , makes no difference. Since I believe in being very thorough I reinstalled VUE & PPro on a different PC , same results.
Ive just downloaded the update and Im curious if it will import my Poser 5 files correctly... Ive been waiting since ages for that - Ive got the Poser 5 update here since many month and I had nearly regret it, because I couldnt import Poser 5 figures into Vue... I used Poser 4 more than 5 since I have it - But it seems this could change that... ;-)

I can already import POSER 5 PZ3's into Vue using version 4.12. Will there be ANY reason for me (and those like me) to upgrade to 4.2 ?? Does it help with the timeline issues after importing PZ3's (i.e. massive slowdown making timeline unuseable?). Any plans to fix the broken OpenGL implementation? Thanks, Tim

Hi there,
I'm pleased to announce that we have decided to make the Vue 4.2 Beta Update publicly available. The update is an incremental update from Vue 4.12.
After several iterations, we have finally decided to use completely separate code to handle imports from Poser 4 and Poser 5 (none of the advanced Poser 5 features - e.g. dynamic hair and cloth - are supported in this update). That way, maximum ascending compatibility with Poser 4 should be ensured.
The update also features a number of fixes and improvements, including better performance of the material editor under OS X.
This update has alreay been in beta for over 2 months and appears to be quite reliable. If you would like to give it a try, you can download the files below. Please note that beta testing is at your own risk.
Vue 4.2 Beta Update for Mac OS X
Vue 4.2 Beta Update for Windows
I hope that you will like this new update.
Best Regards
