Subject: Using Shave and Haircut for Poser model

Does anyone know how to put your new hair made from Shave onto your new model back in Poser - assuming that the head was the only thing exported to Shave?

I believe the hair in S&H is a post effect and not actual geometry that can be exported to other programs. like P5 hair is.

So I have to create the hair in Poser 5 then add finishing touches in Shave, is that what you mean?

You can try to make "hair polygons" and then, after made them editable, export the resulting mesh. But I'm also warning you, hair alone can be as heavy as Vicky3 with bodymorphs.......

So what's your advice? Shall I use the poser hair with poser models and just leave shave for my C4D stuff?

An alternative is to export poser models to C4D, less any hair, then use shave to add hair.

I think you're right about using shave only in cinema and poser hair only in P5. I have a couple of questions, I hope you can help me: How long is the render time of both kind of hairs in comparision? and how about quality and setup times? Have you tested the P5 hair as splines in Cinema? does it render faster in comparision with Shave or slower? Thank you

segart: I'm still a newbie to all this, but I know the quality of Shave is pretty impressive and it looks far more realistic than hair composed in Poser.

Thanks MulaG, I agree, shave hair looks more realistic, but having P5 I guess Im only trying to avoid purchasing shave by knowing the pros and cons of both. Thanks again.
