THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Image size constraint problem

I seem to have problems setting image size for render to disk. Regardless of whether or not I uncheck constrain image in the document setup dialog whenever I try to setup a true 16X20 image it comes out differently. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks Mivan

In what way is it coming out different? What dpi are you using?

If I try to correct the existing settings from the render to screen file Bryce changes the second setting to correspond to something other than what I enter. My resolution is 100ppi. If I try to enter say 16 X 20 it comes out as 16 X 21.25. If I try to correct the 21.25 to 20, the 16 changes to something else. Same thing happens when I try to change the pixel dimensions. Mivan

Ok first you have to set a ratio in the document setup that matches the dimensions you want in your render to disk. (BTW you can render 1600 x 2000 without using render to disk, but it may not fit your screen). 16 x 20 is a 4 to 5 ratio. Set this in the Document setup, to be able to see all the scene you can set it to 400 x 500 (which is still 4:5 ratio). Now when you go to render to disk you should get the right dimensions. Was that clear or did I confuse you?

Eureka! Thanks for the help. Amazing how confusing the simple stuff can become. Mivan

yea, what Aldaron said... winks If it were psp, i would immediately say, uncheck the maintain aspect ratio when resizing... so knew there had to also be a comversion for bryce also. Jen

According to my wife my tummy seems to have a little problem with its aspect ration also; grin! Mivan
