I am trying to make a model of my daughter using Poser 5 and everything was going well until I got to the hair. I went into the hair room and set up dynamic hair in 4 groups for her long, straight, front sides and back (see attached). When I styled it with the morph wheels the hair penetrated the figure regardless of collision settings. So I styled it manually and then ran the dynamics with all the collisions on. Poser stole my 2.8 gHz of CPU and 512 Megs of Ram and just sat there for 7 hours thinking about it.

The short question: What is the trick for making a figure with long dynamic hair that won't penetrate the figure?

The collision for dynamic hair doesnt work fine and it's very slow, so I find it useless. SR3 reduce this problem but it's still present; i hope in SR4 Curious Lab remove it. Excuse my bad English.

Sorry, but what is SR3?

SR stands for service release, which is an update for a program. You can download SR3 for Poser 5 from Curious Labs www.curiouslabs.com Then goto downloads then, Poser 5 and click 'Poser 5 Service Release 3 Updater (English)' I think you need the update called 'Poser 5 - Service Release 3 Application Updater' Its quite a large download of 20.7mb... It will tell you what problems it fixes and then you should download and install it. Hope that helps :) Personally If I were you about the hair, is forget the hair room, it doesn't give very nice results. Best bet is to download some of the excellent and very realistic looking FREE hair by Koz here: http://digitalbabes2.com/ Its really some of the best hair about, I'm sure you will find one to match yor daughters hair..
