I remodeled the buildings somewhat, barbed the wire, and added a smokestack. I still need to add snow on the top of the wall, window sills, etc. Any suggestions?

Oh, I also added a drainage pipe on the nearest building.

wow looking great Jason! Don't forget snow on the trees or icicles maybe. -SeaC-

Actually, I'm trying to forget snow on the trees as I think that's way beyond my abilities. ;-)

hmm... jason, not really... all you need is to modify one of the snowed-over presets... just change the ground texture to a bark-like one and you're set. oh, and as far as suggestions go, I'd change the lighting a bit, add bars to the windows (or some of them), ad a couple of tall smoke stacks in the distance, blur shadows, decrease the ambience of the ground and increase its texture size magnification to 30=50%. just me. i'm having a very nit-picky day so far. Jason, it's looking very good so far! I agree that something (whether smokestacks or buildings or whatever) off in the distance would add some more depth to your image. For snow on the trees, could you duplicate a tree, enlarge it slightly upwards, and give it a snow mat? That way it might look like snow on the branches. Just a thought, haven't tried it to see if it would work.

Snow on the trees? Try this. Make a duplicate of the tree. move it up slightly and shrink it slightly (REALLY slightly now. And then apply the snow texture to it.

For snow on the wall and sills you could use metaballs. They usually look great for things like snow 'cos of the way they blend together. Catlin

mloates and Ornlu, yep thats how I did my snow on trees in my 'Winter Yard' scene. Might also want to slightly shrink, using the attributes box, the tree in the x and z. Don't try with the edit box thingy, not enough control that way. Jason, this is looking real good. I think the additions you've made are great. Not sure if you changed the ground snow but if you did I think I liked the previous version better. Angela

Lol, ya can't please everyone Jason! I do agree with the smokestack idea, and more snow would be cool, but this scene has the ideal "starkness" and it emulates the cold horror of that time and place. Can't wait to see the final!

Thanks for the snow on trees help. Smokestacks in the distance won't work as none of my reference images have them. But buildings in the distance might work.

This is taking shape very nicely Jason. Nice work so far. Looking great. 8) Wade
