Can i use a background Pic in Bryce, innsted of the sky? And if i can, how?

Use a 2d face, found with the create icons (cubes, spheres etc)just under the gold man. Resize it to fill the background and then map your picture to it in the materials lab. If you`re not sure of how to do that, call back.

click on this icon and you'll get an interface where you can load your 2D-pic. click on the check icon and bryce creates a 2d plane with the image mapped onto it. Bryce automatically makes the ratio of this 2d plane the same as the ratio of the image. You can place this 2D plane at the back of the scene and resize it to fill the view.

You see. You try and help someone out and end up learning something yourself! I didnt know you could do it that way round. Much quicker. Thanks Rayraz, and I guess I should thank oral-b too. Now, wheres that bloody manual.

Rayraz ( ) posted Fri, 29 August 2003 at 9:34 AM

:) The manual isn't much help. the question should be 'where is RWB4?' :)

I had that on a three week loan from the local library and after 3 months the buggers demanded it back. Trouble is, I think I got it too early and got a little overwhelmed by it. Now Ive got some of the basics down, but not all, obviously, Id like another go at it. Trouble is, the easiest place to buy it cheap is Amazon and after my last experience with them, I won`t use them. Have to look around.

BTW, oral, thi is a link to a pic using an image as a sky. I think the technique works quite well.

I always use Amazon and they've always given me a good service. What problem did you have with them Sam? Catlin

Had trouble with a printer, sorted now but had a lot of probs getting them to answer emails. I`d rather go down the shops now. They turned me off internet shopping.

My dad had the same problem with Amazon when he bought me RWB4 for my birthday this past July. He bought and paid for the book and it took almost 4 weeks to get to me after many emails to Amazon and the individual who was selling it. I finally got it, thank God, and I am having a great time with it. I am hoping once the kiddies start school I will have more time to create some images with all of this new found information. Lots of new stuff to go over and play with.:)
