Subject: P5 Dynamic clothing in galleries?

Ajax ( ) posted Fri, 29 August 2003 at 11:00 PM · edited Sat, 25 January 2025 at 7:29 AM

I don't get much time to browse the galleries and on dial up it takes me forever. Can anybody point me to some really good examples of people using P5 Dynamic cloth in their renders? I'm trying to get an idea of to what extent people are using it and how they use it when they do.

I thought P5 dynamic cloths are for animations

I can only show you one not very good example from my gallery. The "ghost" woman is wearing dynamic clothing. It can be used in still graphics very well in order to show motion. I'm just not very good at grahics. I'm sure others will post better examples for you.

My first try at using Dynamic Cloth + Dynamic Hair + Forcefield. Calculation was for 40 frames. The picture is frame 32. My experience is that the amount of polygons has to be twice or even three times as high as in the poser standard items. The cloth is the high res square prop subdivided three times. You can imagine that the calculation time is endless - half a day on a fast machine. I did it for about 10 to 15 times in order to get the effect.

Here is one of my early use of poser dynamics rendered in cinema but clothing was draped and posed in poser I have other images in my gallery that use the dynamics also.

Hi Steve, Is there any chance you're going to do a dynamic trench coat? JV :D

I don't know if they're 'really good' but if I can do it, anyone can :) I converted one of Steves conforming outfits for this http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=400757&Start=49&Artist=rjghise&ByArtist=Yes And I love the way this drapes as she sits: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=473167&Start=1&Artist=rjghise&ByArtist=Yes I love the dynamic clothes, I wish there were more of them.

Could give it a try, most of the detail would need to be on the texture though so i'll have to find a coat to use o)....I LOVE that image Rjghise, i may be a bit biased but i don't care, to me you made the suit exactly how i wanted it to look but didn't...and you inspired me to do a second..Steve

I used dynamic cloth for this animation of Amy the Squirrel, and also in a still-frame render of Sabrina.

Thanks everybody. There's some good stuff there. That's helped me get a feel for where the community is at with cloth dynamics at the moment. Much appreciated :-)
