3dmf import is still in there on the mac in Bryce5. The hidden mesh export feature is on both platforms and its been there since Bryce3 - Select the mesh cmd/ctrl E to edit it and then cmd/ctrl D brings up the hidden export option that lets you save the mesh in a whole bunch of different export formats. I'm curious - do you get an error on Windows when you try to import it or does it just plain not SEE the file? I know even old versions of Amapi that can do it too if you have that software. Scott

How to convert ".3dmf"-files into".obj"-files for use in Bryce 5.
My way: Its a bit complicated ... but it works.
First STEP:
Open the original (if binary "3dmf") file in DesignWorkshop lite (Freeware by Artifice,Inc www.artifice.com/free/dw_lite.html)
and save it as "3dmf"-ASCII file.
Second STEP:
Import the "3dmf"-ASCII file in "3dmf2wrl" (Freeware by Foxy Software http://www.crispen.org/src/)
and export it as "vrml 97" file (extension "WRL").
Third STEP:
Import the "WRL" file in "3Dwin4" (Shareware by TB-Software http://www.tb-software.com/download.html)
and export it as wavefront "obj"-file.
FINALLY:
Import that "obj"-file into Bryce 5.
Thats it.
One thing to say:
Export function of "3Dwin4" when used unregistered may miss every 5th vertex/edge/face.
Hope it helps you
