Subject: V3 and DAZ's Bombshell Hair

I am having a problem with Victoria and DAZ's Bobshell hair. I am adding the hair, parenting it to the head and conforming it to the head and then chaning color, style, etc. The problem comes when I go to render it stops on "Adding Objects". I am using a MAC Titatinuim G4 laptop woth Poser 5. I don't have any other problem rendering any other accessories, just this Bombshell hair. It is very frustrating. Anyone else having this problem?!?!?! I would like to know if I am doing something wrong or if it is just some weird glitch. Thanks!

I don't know if this might be the prob, but you only have to conform it, you don't have to parent it as well... Hope you find a solution

Thanks! I'll try that! Also, I found that if I render as Poser 4, it does render. I waited it out as a Poser 5 render and it did eventually render (after about 20 minutes! Agh!) but there were "holes" in the hair. I'll try your suggestion and keep experimenting!

Attached Link: how to fix "holes" in Poser 5 rendering

The link is from Koz's site. Don't know if this is your problem, but I've found it helps, not just with Koz's hair, but with a lot of other things that render in Poser 4 but look splotched or patchy in Poser 5.

Um, and make sure smooth polygons is on for the hair-- it really improves the texture. The hair is fairly massive, not as hard to render as Yann hair-- but close. Emily

Thanks everyone for your help! I did try another Firefly render with shadows on and t he whole works. I didn't parent the hair and the render didn't have holes this time. It was grueling but it did render with alot of patience! I did purchase the "Wild & Messy" hair from DAZ3d.com and it renders faster and looks beautiful! Unfortunately it doesn't have the versatility that the Bombshell hair has, but at least I have another option now! Thanks again!

Been to Kozaburo's site, yet?? He has some incredible free hair for V3, the Messy hair is incrediably useful, as is the long and pony tail and updo and-- its a good site and he has instructions on how to work his hair in P5. Thereare several sources of free textures for it too. Emily hoping to broaden your choices.

Personally I would say that Koz's free hair is much nicer and more realistic looking than the bombshell hair, but thats just my personal opinion.. Another favourite hair make of mine is Quarker (search the Market place here)... Although not free, Quarkers hair is very reasonably priced and is just mind blowing. I just bought Grace Lion Hair, and i am just in awe!! Happy Rendering! -SimderZ- xXx

I too have had a problem with the bombshell hair, and I have a good computer. I have done everything that I was supposed to do with the hair in terms of conforming the hair to my girl but nothing is working. It stops at adding objects and then won't go any further. Is it possibly a problem with the hair itself that is creating the render problem?

P5 DOES NOT like the Bombshell hair AT ALL. I have never been able to get it to render in P5.
