Subject: August challenge

Is the deadline tonight or can we get an extra day due to the holiday? :)

Telson ( ) posted Mon, 01 September 2003 at 12:01 AM

Hopefully tonight, I've been waiting to vote :P

madmax_br5 ( ) posted Mon, 01 September 2003 at 12:44 AM

I hope not, cause I need another day to render ;)

Can you change an image? Think I did a better one!

I thought that Agent Smith offered the first of the month as the deadline. So I would figure that you had till tomarrow night to get your entry done. That was my understanding I guess. Just my $0.02 Wade

"Challenge deadlines are at the end of each calendar month, unless noted otherwise." If the Deadline was changed i do think they would of said something before hand

jasonmit ( ) posted Mon, 01 September 2003 at 1:33 AM

It's the 3rd because of a holiday in the U.S.

Claymor ( ) posted Mon, 01 September 2003 at 1:37 AM

Challenge upload page says it is midnight on the 1st

Um ,yeah...the aforementioned WIP I need to clean up a few things but wanted to get it out here in the event that I miss the deadline.

Telson ( ) posted Mon, 01 September 2003 at 1:40 AM

"Challenge is on as of right now, and will end on September 1st midnight, Renderosity time" as of right this minute Monday, September 1, 2003 1:37 CST

What Zhann posted (while I was hunting for it) is why I said it's the 3rd. It's post 20 in that thread.

jasonmit ( ) posted Mon, 01 September 2003 at 2:09 AM

And don't forget that you have to use the challenge upload area (linked in the forum header up there) to be in the challenge.

Bless Claymor's heart, nobody said anything about how cool his wip is. (Cool Wip?) It took a struggle to get those trees to fit convincingly with those stairway and city props. Glad you'll have time to finish it.

Claymor, neat concept! That reminds me of Zilpha Keatley Snyder's Below the Root trilogy. Have you read it?

Claymor: Nice image, but I don't get a sense of scale other than it all looks Lilliputean, what do you think?

Super job Claymor!

Ang25 ( ) posted Mon, 01 September 2003 at 9:43 AM

Ya know its renders like this one that make me shake my head in total awe. And say "How the blank did he do that!" I hate trying to position stuff and far as I've tried I can't boolean any parts out of a tree. Which is where I am in awe, because none of the tree is poking thru the platforms. Thats a heck of a feat. Great image, don't forget to upload by the deadline.

Amethyss IM AgentSmith, I think he said if you wanted to change it was ok but you'd be better contacting him directly. 8) Catlin

amethyss ( ) posted Mon, 01 September 2003 at 11:25 AM

I should stick to my first ideas.Well I tried the IM to Agent Smith(no reply) so guess this one stays.Unless of course we do have till the 3rd.?Who really knows.
