Subject: Making freckles using Spots node shader

I attempted making freckles using Spots node shader; then I applied its on image map using Colour math node (Multiply argument). The result seems not bad: has someone suggestion for more realism?

Cool idea. Is that poser 5? For realism, I've heard and seen great texture maps work. Um greyscale images I believe they are. Argh I hope someone who knows more can explain this better lol.

Nice effect, must try this myself. As far as realism goes, most people I see tend to have diferent densities of freckles on some parts of the face than others - bridge of the nose and forehead often have the highest densities. I haven't played with the spots node, but perhaps you could create a grey-scale "distribution density" map and plug it into one of the inputs (does threshhold control frequency?) -- Mark
