Just installed the free C4D. It opened a piece of clothing as an obj and re-exported it in a form Poser could handle, though I think it lost some of the material groups and I didn't check the UV mapping. Still, a promising start.

How functional is the version on the disc? Can you render / save with it and / or import objects with textures or full set-ups from Poser?

If it's the same version as featured on some German magazines, the only limitation is a max render size of 600x400 - other than that, it's identical to Version 6 XL.

As Stewer says, though you can render to screen and do a screen capture to go a bit larger (but no alpha channels then, of course). I meant to add that it's a weird installation: there's a .zip for the Win application, a .sit for the Mac application, and then there are a number of extra .zips for documentation and resources, with no real indication of where they need to be put.

Has anyone tried plugins with this yet? I know there are some free ones out there (link), but they specify 6.1 and up, 6.3 and up, etc. and I don't know if they'll work with 6CE or not.

6.303 according to the About screen. The link looks interesting, though when I'm going to play with the thing I don't know - still have stuff from the DAZ sale waiting for a tryout!

It messes up your materials and flips the normals when you export, so just remember to put on Back face culling before you export and make sure the model has its normals the wrong way around then they will be right for Poser.....or just flip them in uvmapper, i find the the easiset thing to do as you need to fix the materials in there too...on the installation just create a folder called C4d or whatever and drop everything in there, once you have everything set up how you like, for example setting up your screen or plugins, then burn that folder to CD then if you ever need to install again you just drag that folder from the cd to the HD and put the SN in...the whole App structure is in the exe you see, no dll's and the like.......Steve
