just wondering if you guys saw this as believable. This is the brand of ciggies I smoke here in Korea. Drac

The logo texturing looks fine to me. The only thing I'd think is out is that the joins in the cardboard box look too flat. Like the join where the flip top touches the main part of the box (on the front) for example - doing it by texture just doesn't quite do it (for me). Hope that makes some sense.

Looks good Drac. Subtle lighting too.

Drac, I think you should cut the box on the flip-top part and run a very small fillet, or lift it up a milimetre. But at the first sight, it looks quite good.

I Agree with Erlik, good wip

Lots of agreement on the fillet for the flip top, although you could consider using a bump map, that way you could also emboss the typing very slightly as well

Looks good so far, Drac. How many lights are you using for the render?

"This Plus", "Be the Challenger", LOL. I love English phrases written in Asia. This wouldn't seem to mean anything, "I am being the Challenger because I am smoking this brand." Challenger of what? (sorry, former smoker, 16 years of non-smoking now, sometimes I get preachy) Even though I don't believe in virtual smoking, this prop looks great, would look very believeable lying next to a cigarette burning in an ashtray. Well done, Drac!

So glad you posted it! Here in Italy they just decided to occupy 50% (I'm saying FIFTY) of the pack surface with the warning: "Smoke Kills You", so my times of scanning cigarettes pack are finished. If I'd knew it in advance, I'd put aside some old Camels. Sigh. Very, very well done.

That model is too flat for me. I can't see that the top is divided from the bottom. Nice textures, though. J.

MuddyGrub ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 6:15 PM

I think you should stop smoking :-0

Innovator ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 8:49 PM

nice texture job. It is too flat looking and would help a lot to "dirty up the texture". If you are going for photorealistic, flawless, clean textures are what you want to avoid. I would say, open up the top and expose a couple of cigarettes as well. Good start though
