Subject: Converting P4 clothes to Vicki/V2/V3 ?

duesentrieb ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 12:35 PM · edited Mon, 21 October 2024 at 11:37 PM

I read many many threads dealing with conforming clothing, but I think I never came across the task I would like to perform:
There are so many great clothes in FreeStuff for Posette (i.e. the Poser4 Nude Woman) that I would like to use them on Victoria (V2, V3, whatever...). As everybody knows, you can't do this without conforming them to the new characters, because they have different body groups and joints.

As the P4 clothes are already finished, it should just take a regrouping process to make them fit to Vicki. Or does it?

Is it possible to do this with Poser5 alone? Or do I need any special tools?

The following process would be the finest (albeit I fear it's just wishful thinking...):

  1. Start up the program (whatever).
  2. Load the P4 cloth.
  3. Load Vicki (or a Vicki conforming cloth that works as a template)
  4. Press GO.
  5. Tadah! We're done!

You see, my goal is to convert these clothes with as little effort as possible.

Any ideas?

If you have Victoria, you also have a V2P4 character. That character will fit Posette's clothes.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

At this link is a quite simple method for doing this. I use it most of the time. Best wishes.

@compiler: Thanks a lot! That is a great method and a very detailed explanation. Too bad, I missed it before...

Can this same method be used to fit P4 clothes to P5 Judy! I'm finding, (and bought), lots of clothes for P4 woman, but not much for P5 woman. Thanks

Yes, the step by step method indicated above uses P4 only.
