Well one thing for sure there is no one at MS to recieve an error reprt, and I'll bet there must be a patch for the OS you are running.Drivers from the site perhaps.Sometimes performing a lot of actions in Bryce will shut it down.Another good thing is to disable any anti virus proggy while installing.Go to msconfig and get rid of half the stuff in your start up too. All helping issues I can think of.

I use the msconfig all the time, you think you've got it where you want and then something else decides it's going to run in the background without telling you. It's a handy little thing for sure. 8) Another program that might help you Bryster is "Registry Cleaner", I think you can get it from CNet. It disposes of all the bits and pieces that get left lying around when you move things about or install or delete anything. All you need to do when you open it is go to tools:clean all, and it gives you a list of whats ok to delete. Sometimes it makes a back up of data but you can delete that as well. Catlin

Here's a web site that tells you what program files are necessary on start-up and what isn't. It's nice to know that you are disabling the right thing.Lol yes it is.But I have disabled things that I was'nt sure of and seemed to have no probs.Usually the Program Files ones you can do away with.Except the anti virus. The problem with the messenger ones is they seem to sneak all kinds of wicked nasties into your system if enabled.I used a beta version of JV16 to do registry cleaning I think its a pay for software now and is avail at Downloads.com

My Bryce 5 keeps having to close repeatedly. I reinstalled it today but to no avail I'm running windows MX. The problem has gotten so bad as to make it unusable. Any ideas por favor ...TIA Ken
