I made a texture for the Poser 3 (also DAZ3D) frog using the free Texture Template (attached) from the DAZ product page. Because the template doesn't give you the sides, tummy, back, top, etc., of the frog, when I apply the texture it looks great in some areas and is a big blur in others :(. I took the frog (as an object) into UVMapper, but was unsuccessful in my attempt to create a more useable template. Can anyone help me? Thanks so much in advance! TerrieLee :)

bloodsong remapped the frog to solve some of the problems you describe. Look for her free Improved Zygote Frog at 3D Menagerie. In addition to the remapping and new textures, it also has new morphs and a tongue prop.

All of which begs the question... What on earth was on their collective minds when the early DAZ/Zygote stuff was mapped? Some of the templates are a complete joke. Mike's clothing, for example. It's good to see the newer products have much better maps.

Hey, c'mon. Like everything else, there was probably a learning curve involved.

Yup, you're right. It's fair to say that Poser has been pushed way beyond the original intentions and along with that, our demands and expectations are much higher. Still, take a look at some of the mapping; it's enough to make a cat laugh. :)

And the software for mapping has gotten better over time as well.

even so - some of the older examples are a long way from the old version of "professional" (nowadays that term has no overtones, merely meaning that money changes hands with no comment on quality).

Gee thanks everyone :)))!!! I'm off to 3D Menagerie! TerrieLee :)
