does anybody knows if quick corform does the joint parameters or did you have to do that in poser?

Quick Conform with give you the exact same jp's (and everything else) of the donor cr2 you use.

Just curious to know what it does besides changing the OBJ path which could be done in 2 minutes in Wordpad. Does it also address the materials? Again could be done in Wordpad but will take more scrolling, so that would be good. More particularly does it deal with less than skin tight clothing where the spherical fall off zones may need to be adjusted?

Yes, it strips out the materials and all the dead morphs. I've used the method many times where an obj is imported into Poser and the a library entry is selected for it in the setup room, which does carry over materials and dead morphs, but Quick Conform gets rid of both of these very cleanly and quickly. The only thing sort of sloppy is that it always creates all the "bones" for the figure regardless of whether the clothing being created needs them or not. All in all, I'd say it's a great little utility.

Does it use the figure Cr2 or the clothing Cr2....if the latter you'd be better off with PWizard as that uses the figure so no need for a suitable clothing item as a donor.., and i have the same Q as Phil about the Spherical zones.....Steve

From my experience, it carries over all the exact joint info as the donor cr2. As far as the type of cr2 needed as a donor, you typically would choose the figure that you want to conform your clothing to. I have, however, also found that if you have a new figure/character/creature who roughly resembles the proportions of another figure, you can use quick conform to get a jump on the creation of the new figure's bones. So far, I've been using it about 3 weeks and am very pleased with it. Also, AGE: Auto Group Editor can really add some much needed funtionality to the process of editing an obj's groups for original figure creation. These two programs go together quite nicely. I'm not familiar with PWizard. Is this available here or is it another of those Daz aquisitions?

Its from here http://market.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=8357 does more than conforming, though i haven't tryed the other wizards much....So if you create a dress for Vicky and use Vicky as the donor does it create the offsets need for Clothes?....Steve

I don't think so. I model all my clothing with the polygons already offset, if that's what you mean, so it doesn't really matter when I take it into quick conform or poser
