Okay ... I need to go to bed, work tomorrow and I have a headache from Hell. But tried a new border and new sharpening technique for the Brazilfest stuff. Like the border, sharpening is too harsh. But anyway, the scary part about this shot? I didn't catch him as he was going over. He held in this position for quite a while. Talk about freaking muscle control and strength! -=>Donald

Ywaaw! That must hurt. The sharpening (or maybe what jpeg does to it?) is a bit harsh. Nice frame. Difficult to find one that looks good with different backgrounds.

Wow... muscle control and strenth indeed! Your new framing is awesome, I like it a lot! Any hints? ;o) Yep, the sharpening seems a bit harsh but a think it's due to many bright white parts. A great shot though!

Yea, the sharpening was definitely too strong. Tried combining a couple techniques and it was just too much. Not worried about it since I'll be doing this one again (it's like shot 199 out of 254). Aki - Nah, I just play around with it. If you wanna talk to someone who does exceptional creative borders, then talk to Cynlee. But don't tell her I said so ... don't want her to think I like her or something. :) hehehe Lately, I've been trying borders that match the tones of the photo. Notice how the dark areas of the border match, for the most part, with the shadow areas near the borders. Still working on it, but in this one I increased the canvas size, then scaled a copy of the photo to match the new size, inverted the color, used saturation and levels to wash out the image then applied a gaussian blur. Think that's right. It's been a while ... I came up with this one right after shooting Brazilfest and put it in an action so I may have a step out of sequence. :) -=>Donald

OK. What was wrong with the sharpening? I thought it was fine. The people looked sharp. That's the whole point right? Bsteph

B - Yea, sharp ... but not unnaturally so. With over-sharpening, you can gain things like halos (some are beginning to appear here). Really, the amount of sharpening is a matter of personal taste. -=>Donald
