Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 03 1:41 pm)
This is kinda neat >^_^< The boots are fabulous! The pants could use some smoothing in the crotch area, and maybe a codpiece prop or a drawstring....what's holding them up? The shirt: The cuffs are great. The puffy part of the sleeves....what are the extra pieces on the inner arms? I don't know that much about medieval costuming; are those flaps typical? The upper sleeves (orange) could use some smoothing on the seams (armpit area), or will a texture and bump fix that? All in all it's a great costume. It would be great if you could offer those boots seperately. They're really great and could be used for all sorts of styles. Casey
Texture map should take care of most of the seam problems. The flap on the sleeves is something poser does to the mesh whenever the arms bend down. I havent been able to figure out why it does that. I'll have to take a morph to the inner thigh area. That's something else poser does to this figure. When it's in the default poser, everything is smooth. Conform it to the figure and it bulges at the inner thigh. Go figure. Hadnt thought about making the boots separate. Dave
I am not certain that you understand this, but adding a couple of morphs and re-scaling does not make an item "yours" to sell. The boots are the property of rbtwhiz and it will be a copyright infringement if you decide to sell them. You have no permission to use them in this package. Renderosity does not allow taking someone elses hard work and selling it as your own. I suggest you reconsider your offer here and make an apology to the actual creator of these boots! ~3DSprite 3dsprite@hazelton.net Forum Administrator
The concept is nice, needs more work...the shirt needs some type of leather strings for the neck area instead of just all open like that. As has already been said smoothing is needed. Are you making textures to go along with it? Are the clothes conformable or posable? You didn't say.... If the boots are not yours, then guess those will not be in the package. Would I buy it? Probably not...download it from the freestuff area yes and give you credit for your hardwork, but not buy it. The little money I have to spend after buying poser & bryce goes towards zygote models at the moment and I'm saving my money for the millineum man... Any clothing that I would buy would have to be real close to perfect. But it is coming along really well....good effort :)
Dave, While I have no objection to you posting a FREE cr2 with any morphs you've made for my "Riding Boots", you do not have my permission to re-distribute the mesh (in any form). This includes your plan to offer them in a group of items to be sold via the Renderosity Online Store as a combined figure with the pants. The stipulations for use of my downloads are clearly outlined in the ReadMe.txt included in the zip. "...Redistribution or sale of this figure, in whole or in part, by themselves or as part of a collection is strictly prohibited unless released by me with my signed written authorization." I've made light of this post in the Moderators forum and provided an image for comparison as proof. Casey, As you may have gathered, the boots ARE offered FREE for personal use from my website (downloads section). If you have a problem downloading them, contact me privately and I will get them to you. -Rob
Thank you Dave. In an effort to avoid any similar situations later down the road, feel free to contact me via private email should you want to include my work. I don't have a problem with joint ventures, just with my work being claimed as anothers... much like any other artist. These particular boots are a variant of the Cowboy boots included with Poser4, which would make them also the property of Zygote. Posting them would have both violated my copyright as well as Zygote's. The copyright issue is the very reason they're posted on my site as .pcf... So you see, there is more to it than just "hey, those look like mine". -Rob
