THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: WIP in progress. Opinions and a Proposal

I've re-modelled the tables, - brought in a waitress, and parked the 1957 Cadilac outside. *g* The floor is still to clean, there aren't any posters on the walls, no menus on the tables, no salt/pepper shakers, napkinholders, no nuttin. I think the model itself is coming along, though. :) But I'd like to suggest a collaboration. Are there anybody here who would like to "equip" this diner? Say I save it out in .opb format, zip it, and post a link to it here in the forum. For me, that would be a great learning experience; I still have problems with placing the lights right, aligning things (posters) to a wall.. etc. etc. If there are volounteers out there, we'd have the same model to work with, and it would be fun to see how different our results would be. What do you think? (Of course; if this is OK with the moderators... AS... what say you?)

The tables look great!

This model is coming along nicely. Very nicely. That is an interesting proposal.... would all depend on what AS thinks I guess. It definitely would be a learning experience, there is no doubt for me. Wade

This sounds like a lot of fun! That is a pretty terrific start you have there. It would definitely be a learning experiance.

If I remember right FWTempest already has the salt and pepper shakers, the napkin holder AND a rootbeer float, or in this case black cow, mug. All it would need is one of those wee table-top juke boxes.

Sounds like it could be a lot of fun!

I'm really looking forward to this! Here's what I'm thinking: As we develop this 50's joint, we should be prepared to write a mini-tut on how things were done; so that others might learn some new techniques. The advantages by using the same ground model is of course that it's easier to follow such mini-tutorials. In the spirit of sharing; I'd certainly hope that what-ever we model/ make for the diner will be shared as well, but that is of course up to y'all. And og course any artwork you create with it will remain the artist's property. Have I thought about everything now? *lol* I dunno, because I'm only on my first cup of coffee..

Wow Britt, you've been busy since I saw this last time, this looks fantastic! What a great idea (and very generous of you) to share this with us. I'm downloading it now, cant wait to play with this one......love the lil waitress. It will be fun seeing how differently everyone adds little touches of their own. Thanks so much! Teri R

I could throw together a ceiling fan really quick using Wings. Would something like that be useful? And how should one go about sending it? (which is preferred? .3ds or .obj?) My free email is limited to a meg or so with attachments, therefore using one of those IM programs or an upload site would be good. (I think I might be able to squeak by in file size with something simple like that, so email might work...) And why not some rough sketches of items that you haven't found, but still need. That way people could get an idea of what you need modeled. Then check off the list as they are submitted, so you don't get too many of the same thing.

There might be something worth downloading.
