i was wondeing if anyone could tell me how or if you can change an object's color in bryce?

Yes, absolutely. With the object selected, press Ctrl+M to go to the materials lab. There, you can change colour, transparency, reflection, etc.,etc. The materials lab is a place you will frequent often! There are lots of tutorials around on materials, and lots for download--you should check 'em out. Best of luck!

I'll assume this is a default grey object and you don't want to apply a texture to it just a change of colour.In the matterials editor you'll see some ovals next to the words Diffuse/Ambient/Secular etc.On diffuse (you may need to repeate this on ambient and the others)left click the oval (grey patch) and a colour slider will appear.Keeping the mouse button down move the cursor arround in the colour area until you get the colour you want in the oval that you clicked.Let go of the button and the colour has changed.

If you don't like the drop down color window and want to do some better color refinement, just hold down the ALT key while clicking in the oval that Thelema was referring to and a color mode slider window will drop down instead giving you better color control.
