Subject: Suggestion for M3

RnRWoman ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 11:07 PM · edited Sat, 11 January 2025 at 2:45 AM

Hey all; Thinking about the arrival of M3, I wanted to make a suggestion. Could DAZ3D or any Merchants be able to make hand morphs for M3? Not all guys have long hands and skinny fingers ;) So it'd be great if us who get confused about breaking down hand morphs so they can be applied, could have hand options. Instead of messing around with the scaling too, which doesn't always look right. Just my 2 cents. :) --RnRWoman

Hey there RnRWoman, Still working with those guitar-playing guys? It would be nice to have the option of broad hands with blunt, square fingers that would still pose well. If you've got them, why not some photo examples of what you'd like? Elisa/gryffnn

i think they need to realize that they need to concentrate on all of the figure not just the main parts people want realism and so far only haveing certin areas with morphs and poseing sucks and they need to work on the problem that if you lined up character pics you could always point out the Mike and vickie characters i would like more shape morphs ect ect ect ya know

Gryffn; I know I asked this weeks ago, but I was on the MAC and couldn't get to upload the pix then at that time. So now I'm back on the PC and here's the pictures you suggested of the type of hands I want for M3. Think you could make hand morphs for M3? I have your Michael Plus product for M2 and it is EXCELLENT - you do a great job with morphing so I figure you would do great with this. :) I would REALLY appreciate it. Since there's not usually hand morphs that come with the model. And not all guys have long skinny hands. I hope this is not too tall of an order. Here's some picture references. :) There are 3 pix, I'll attach them.

hands1.jpghands2.jpghands3.jpg Notice how the hands are signifigantly bigger than the forearm, in width. The fingers are big yet not very long in size.

Good pics - just the kinds of hands I was thinking of. I'm finishing up Michael3XprssnMagic, then I'll take a close look at his hands. Hands are complex: reshaping but also posing, rescaling and joints for all the many parts. I haven't done real hand morphs - so I may be another potential customer. Glad to hear you like the MikePlus update!

Thanks! I tried to find my best pix of the hands I have in mind. Yeah, I know what you mean. I asked in another forum about doing hands (at Poserpros) -- I got a very in depth explaination and it sounds complicated and is. Someone else had to do V3 ones (put the joints back, etc) after I made an attempt to morph them, they had to disect them and put them back. :( Ugh. Maybe someone knows of an easier way. I think someone else could do a better job than I did.Perhaps experiment around. Please let me know what you think and if you find a way, or know of something that could help. I imagine a lot of people are looking for hand morphs. Thanks, yes I do! You always do a good job with your morphing. :)

Note: my attempt to morph V3's hands was not that great LOL

I can tell you there is at least one morph that gives Mike 3 thicker fingers. It might not be exactly what you are looking for but the did include one.

RnRWoman ( ) posted Tue, 09 September 2003 at 6:45 PM

Thanks! Hopefully the morph they supplied will work ok. If not I better ask for help hehe. My problem is, if you made a broader build guy, the skinny long fingered hands will not look right. They need "workman hands."

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Tue, 09 September 2003 at 6:49 PM

Yep .. I know that very well. My orcs didn't look good with thin fingers. It is in a full body morph, so you will have to just do the hands when you do it but it gives a rougher hand.

RnRWoman ( ) posted Wed, 10 September 2003 at 1:35 AM

Ok, I'll try that morph and see if it works. If not, I don't know enough about morphing to make one and apply it to it, because you have to transfer this and that, and I'm not that technical minded LOL! :) Thanks for your suggestions.
