This is just an updated version of some planet-work I dug up on an old computer... Thanks to everyone for the AWESOME ideas and tips on lighting and materials. Rendered in Bryce 5 this time, and with a Brycean sun, no Photoshop at all. I changed the atmospheric haze and the moon's material, and added bump-shadows to the cloudsphere, and blah blah blah... This image is morphing into a painting I made several times when I was in school, and I'll be done with the actual gallery piece in a few days...

And here is the older Bryce 4 render, done on my work computer (P-2/266) and done on a dying monitor, for comparison. The sun's effects on this one were done with KPT/Photoshop, although the planetary lighting is all Bryce.

This looks good! Reminds me of a primordial solar system. How about stars? You planning to put any stars into the finish?

Starting off good. Will there be any crafts in this?

Cool :) I think it needs some stars though.

Aye, some stars would totally rule, the litle cloud nebulae are okay, but you're right Rayraz... SexorganSmasher, I'm thinking about something a bit different than a starship, but this one would match up well with my Calm Horizons image. (The other alien craft in that book series was called "Tranquil Hegemony", and ironically was made to destroy the Earth...)
