Yo! First, i am not a pervert, i just want to make a wallpaper for a Postal2 (the Game) Fanpage an i would like to have these Death Poses for a stylish Pic. I've searched the net with a P2P Tool an i found it, but i was not able to download it. It's just 78 KB, so my question is, if somebody could send it to me by email... would be great! Hope to hear somthing about it CYA Sickboxx

Actually, there was a freebie here called "Death Poses" by Discordian5 - don't know if they are still here but might search the freestuff here and get it LEGALLY.

bantha ( ) posted Wed, 10 September 2003 at 5:01 PM

I would look at Schlabber's Site "Posing is an Art", you may find what you are looking for - legally. You should know that most Software in the P2P-Nets is not free and shared illegally. You should also know that breaking copyright laws is considered seriously wrong here. You should not try to get illegal software. Here is enough legal free stuff to make most people happy, there is no need to steal. I hope you bought at least the software itself.

I almost responded to this one, but when I saw P2P Tool I knew it had to be one of those programs that searches for warez. The message is very vague (probably for obvious reasons), but what file are they talking about? I figure if it is only 78 KB, it must be free.

Or perhaps that's why it didn't work on the P2P? It was corrupt? 78Kb is hardly enough for the thumbnails associated with poses... But OK, I'll be nice too then :o) What pose set do you refer to?!

Ah Ronstuff. Thanks for clearing it up :o) Still sounded very much like a warez request, didn't it?

The mere mention of a P2P is a no-no. ( I am in too :)

It doesn't seem to me like searching for a free item with P2P software is illegal. In fact, it actually saves the creator some bandwidth because they get it directly from another person instead of from the creator's site. The important part is resisting downloading the stuff that isn't supposed to be free. :) SnowS

whbos ( ) posted Wed, 10 September 2003 at 8:14 PM

Doesn't P2P software search a user's hard drive looking for software while that user is online? That's a scary thought, and if this is true how can anyone use another person's software if it's already installed (buried dll and other files in Windows)?

not a warez post after all

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Thu, 11 September 2003 at 1:24 AM

Actually P2P wasn't intentionally meant for warez sharing. CD burners weren't made for you to make cheap copies of your friend's music cd's either. As with almost everything you can use or mis-use it. P2P does not search all of your HD. It searches the parts of your HD that you have ALLOWED it to search. In other words, IF you choose to share all of your C:, then it will search that. If you only choose to share C:Documents and settingsuserUsernameMy DocumentsDrivers then only your Drivers library (or whatever) is shared. I agree with Snow, there's nothing illegal in P2P per se, but as it is often used for sharing illegal Poser stuff and I had never heard of that pose pack, I was alarmed. I am sorry for having caused a false alarm. At the time it looked right. Plus I needed something to get my mind of the M3 wait G

I have a pack of freebie face-down laying poses for M2 here http://www.renderosity.com/freestuff.ez?Form.Contrib=moochie&Topsectionid=0 and I should have a pack, including face-up poses for M3, in the Market Place within the next few days. hth

hauksdottir ( ) posted Thu, 11 September 2003 at 9:09 AM

Even sharing free stuff is illegal unless the creator specifically says that redistribution in ok. Most of the people who create things and post items in freestuff still retain their copyright, and insist that only they can distribute the item in question. Before sending even a freestuff item to some p2p sharewarezer you might want to look at the readme for the copyright information. We've lost too many talented modelers because their work was stolen and passed around. Even if they don't lose money, they lose face, and in some quarters that is more valuable. Carolly

Sickboxx ( ) posted Thu, 11 September 2003 at 3:00 PM

Yo! THX to all of you! First: This post wasn't to be ment as an invetation to request warez. The fact that the file is just 78 KB was some sort of sign that it might be freeware ...user made. The Freestuff sektion here in renderosity is such big... i thougth: "maybe i didn't saw the file there!" The P2P thing... well P2P is just One way to share files on the internet... what files the users are sharring is NOT the problem of those tools, its the problem of the users. So everybody stay cool ...it is like hauksdottir said. In fact i am doing those poses now myself ...when it's done i will make it available here... on renderosity. CYA Sickboxx
