It's been a long time since I started making this new version of my free MAT Pose Edit program. The beta version has been ready for some time but I wanted to make sure that I'm not too busy with studies or work during the beta-testing. As some people already know I was nine months in the army where I became more stupid and lazy, so I think it's a moderate accomplishment that I could make MPE 3 beta ready.

I won't yet reveal the new features because anything can happen while beta-testing, but I can tell this is a major upgrade.

To the point: I need about 10-15 people to test MPE 3. Beta-testing will begin next week. I will then e-mail all the beta-testers and set up a web-page where they can download the latest beta and read about found and fixed bugs etc. It would be good if we'd get to test MPE with as many Windows and Poser versions as possible. Most important is that MPE 3 works with Poser 4/Pro Pack (I don't have Poser 5) but also Poser 5 compatibility should be tested.

So, if you're interested, please reply (with your Windows and Poser versions) to this message or send me e-mail to ilari.pihlajisto@mbnet.fi. It's not a problem if you haven't used Mat Pose Edit before, you'll surely learn it if you beta-test it.

I provided a link to MAT Pose Edit homepage for those who don't know what this program does.

Regards,
Ilari Pihlajisto (ilari.pihlajisto@mbnet.fi)

BTW: Those who tested MPE 2 are of course more than welcome to the crew.

I would love to test for you. I'm a fan of your original and prefer it to the commercial products, but would love to see it made P5 compliant. I make a LOT of MAT poses, and sometimes find a text editor faster for batch jobs, so if you want someone to really put it to the test and give you honest feedback, let me know. I can test on all of these systems. Poser 4 on a P3 Laptop 750MHz Win 98-Se2 Poser 4PP on a P3 850MHz Win 98-Se2 Poser 4PP on a P4 2.8GHz Win XP-H Poser 5 on a P3 850MHz Win 98-Se2 Poser 5 on a P4 2.8GHz Win XP-H and great to see you back!

I cannot offer my services to beta this.....but I wanted to echo the sentiments of how much your original Mat-pose-edit is loved. It is a wonderful program, and I cannot imagine how it can be improved, so I am anxious to see this new version. Rawnrr

I'd be happy to test for you, I have used the previous version and found it great! I'm running P5 on Win XP Home with a 2.4gb processor and 1gb DDR RAM.

Wow this looks like just what I have been looking for. I have been trying to create textures and one of my gripes was doing that one item at a time!! I'd love to give this a whirl for you (and me ;) I have Windows xp home pp4 However I will let you know I have not beta tested before so you would likely have to let me know what you were looking to hear about. I'm assuming bugs and what not. If this doesn't mean more work for you then I am game. Also up until now I didn't know this existed so I have no experiance using the program..

OK, you're all in, thank you for joining. I think we have enough beta-testers now. And thank you Rawnrr for your kind words. I hope you'll like the new version even more.

As I mentioned before, it's not a problem if you haven't used MPE or beta-tested anything before. One of my goals is to make the program easy to use and that's why I need newbies: if they don't learn to use the program without reading lots of tutorials then something's wrong. So this isn't just a bug-hunt, this is a good chance to get rid of the problems (also other than bugs) you've had with MAT Pose Edit. An example: I know that the user interface in MPE 2 for managing morphs and poses and importing stuff is awful, but no one ever mentioned about it to me, maybe because people think it's inappropriate to complain about free stuff. Well, during the beta-testing it's very appropriate.

I'll tell more via e-mail when we get the job started. So please let me know your e-mail addresses (IM me or send e-mail).

Ilari
