Subject: M3 DAZ Textures

Pricey... pricey.. pricey... not sure how I feel about M3 yet, so I am holding off on buying. What do the people who've purchased the High Res textures think of them? Considering DAZ didn't add a million pop-ups of the textures like they did with V3 I am curious to know how good they are? I could tell from one of the shots that there appears to be razor burn and ingrown hair bumps on the neck of whoever it was they used to make the textures (again, I'm sure it was not a model like with V3). If anyone has any info or can post some more detailed images I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!!

Also (from what I can tell so far), the V3 Male textures seem to work very well with Mike 3. One is even in the Platinum Club, so that can save some money for other Mike things. ;) SnowS

I do not speak as a representative of DAZ, I speak only as a long-time member here. Be nice (and quit lying about DAZ) and I'll be nice too.

Guess no one has noticed the lack of flaming nostrils? Marque

Normally, I don't care for the older M2 and V2 DAZ textures, but they have done a great job with the V3 and M3 Universal Maps. Even the slight boo-boos could be considered to be scarring and other normal skin variations so they are not at all distracting. I would highly recommend the High Res Universal M3 Map - you can always scale them down and create your own "standard" res versions.

Plus using a nice blur type utility on the specific area can clear some of these up to taste...

Marque ( ) posted Thu, 11 September 2003 at 12:48 PM

Actually I kind of like it, and you're right ryamka, you can fix them, but nice to see a natural scar now and then. 8^) Marque

I had a boyfriend with that exact same boo-boo under his chin. A dog had bitten him when he was a child and he still had the scar (also a huge dog phobia). So maybe I have to get these maps for purely sentimental reasons. ;-) Thanks for posting those images, Marque! Kimberly

I was up til 3am downloading them on dialup, so I haven't had a chance to really work with them. What I did see looked pretty good. I do notice, however the Mikey the third appears to suffer from phimosis. Scarab

Marque, the dark nostrils was the first thing I noticed on the pic :o) Do I win something? ;o) And yes, Get the high rez, they're not that much more expensive and they can be scaled down. You can't scale a medium rez texture UP. Besides, M3 is WAY lighter than V3, even with all morphs applied

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Phimosis?

Marque ( ) posted Thu, 11 September 2003 at 1:13 PM

Yes I noticed that too, wonder if they will do a morph for it? A phimosis is when the foreskin on an uncircumcised male it too tight to pull it back, thus making it necessary to circumscise the male. Marque

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Thu, 11 September 2003 at 1:14 PM

Ahhh .. No wonder I didn't know

Marque ( ) posted Thu, 11 September 2003 at 1:14 PM

How do I know? Used to work as an R.N. and we had that problem show up, though usually in little kids. Marque

Marque ( ) posted Thu, 11 September 2003 at 1:17 PM

Sparrowheart, my ex had that same boo boo, worked for a tire shop and had the part they used to put the tires on the rims buck back on him. Nasty little cut. Marque

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Thu, 11 September 2003 at 1:22 PM

I remember that you used to be a nurse so it was cool ... I actually had no clue what a foreskin looked like other than in very general terms. I had to look it up so I could texture my orc parts LOL

c1rcle ( ) posted Thu, 11 September 2003 at 1:39 PM

So it's called Phimosis? Thanks for the info Marque, both my sons had the problem but the docs never told us what it was. OK folks you can go back to admiring M3 now ;)

Dizzie ( ) posted Thu, 11 September 2003 at 2:36 PM

it looks just like Michael Nouri from Flash Dance....is this a morph that comes with him? save that face!!! LOLOLOL

Marque ( ) posted Thu, 11 September 2003 at 2:45 PM

Ack, already let that char go, wouldn't take long to re-create him though, just turned a few dials until I got the look I wanted. Marque

sparrowheart ( ) posted Thu, 11 September 2003 at 4:03 PM

LOL, it DOES look like Michael Nouri! Kimberly
