Thanks For the idea Zhann! My choice is "Pony Express". As for the DOF Tip...typically you set your Depth of field to a particular Item in the scene, yet for subtle motion or depth blur you can create a sphere, make it completely transparent & place it where it gets your desired effect. Have fun & good luck.

Looks great ICM, kind of like a painting by Remington.

wow--looks great man!! i love the DOF and pose of the horse and the rider. the POV also makes it very dramatic. good luck with the challenge! (thanks for the tip too)

I love the sense of motion and the poses are killer. Thanks also for the great DOF tip!

You can also set the object to "hidden" in its attributes dialogue.

Yeah, it also helps to make the sphere smaller, the smaller it is the more exact you can get your aiming, IE put it on the surface as a tiny little sphere and you can get whatever you want in focus perfectly. That's what I usually do anyway.

Well, I guess I'm going to have to pick another subject, or you may have competition, the Pony Express was my first choice...;]

Just a thought........how about a cloud of dust kicked up by the pony's hooves.......? Great pick though, can't wait to see it finished!

Bryster, I think I see a trace of "dust" but it's hidden by the render options overlay.

Zhann ( ) posted Fri, 12 September 2003 at 4:20 PM

Well, I'm still trying not to twist the legs off my horse, and my rider has no clothes, so until I get something I'm not embarassed to post you'll have to wait...:)

Oh Zhann let's see the horse with the twisted legs. 8) Actually that sounds like most of my Poser figures, lol, one day I'm going to learn that program if it kills me. 8) Catlin
