THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Problem with light probes....

Forgive me if I'm using the wrong terminology, I just started playing with all the different illumination techniques. :) Anyway...when I use an image on an enveloping sphere, the external lightsource causes blue discoloration (on the light probe image) where the natural horizon should be. I want some of that light for shadows, but can't seem to avoid that color problem no matter how little "sun"light I use. Any idea what I might be doing wrong? I followed the settings that were posted in an earlier thread about global illumination and hdri, etc. I can tweak the discoloration away but then the shadows aren't as good. Thanks for any tips. :)

What you are seeing is probably haze coloring the scene or if you have turned on color perspective or both.

Don't you just hate that? What's (probably) going on is you are seeing your bright blue Bryce atmosphere. Turn off the atmosphere, as shown in the pic. Once you turn it off, you will see a small bright blue bar appear, click on it+hold, and choose a more agreeable color, I usually use a mid grey to white color. AgentSmith

Thanks AS! That definitely did the trick. I was thinking that if the atmosphere was off, the color wasn't going to make a difference. Live and learn. :) Also, thanks to all who replied. Everyone's help is always appreciated.
