your other option would be to send the unrendered product to someone, and then have them render it for you and send it back to you. I've done that for friends before and for people I just met over the net before. I let it render overnight or longer if needed. My system is: Aptiva AMD K6 500Mhz with 3D NOW! 128M RAM 10G primary HDD 6G seconday HDD Windows 98 (looking for windows NT) HP CD Writer Soundblaster X-Gamer Live! (not needed for rendering but has kickass sound) Let me know if I can help.
Bryce does not support the AltiVec in G4, neither, so you will probably notice a little or none speed improvement if you get a G4. With a G3, you can still get out more power if you overclock the processor, which should be easily done - as for myself, I did not do it, because it seems silly to me ;) but if you dare, check up the xlr8yourmac.com site and go for it. The G3 processors are all slow-jumpered unless you already have the fastest one.

I'm real desperate to get a scene rendered for school, and was thinking about hiring a new Mac G4 (i have a G3)... My scene is only aabout 16 megabytes, but i need it out putted at 18.7 x 12.5 inches and at 300 dpi. What i'm asking is if the G4 will make a dramatic improvement to this rendering? And are those new Dual Processor ones out for rent yet, and if so... are they supported by Bryce?? Thanks soo much in advance!
