Subject: Anyone else having trouble loading M3 morphs?

When I try to load the body OR head morphs to M3 it takes so long that it seems the program is hung up. There's memory usage fluctuations according to the Task Manager (W2k) but so far I have not been able to load the morphs no matter how long I wait. First I had to install the M3 upgrade into my old Poser 4 directory because that's where the original M1/2 is, then I figured what the heck and installed everything else in P5's directory. So I figured maybe that was the problem, so I re-installed the body and head morphs into the P4 directory. Didn't fix the problem. The V3 morphs take a little time to load but nothing like M3. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

You need to put a copy of !DAZ with contents in both P4 and P5 Runtimelibraries if you intend to use both programs to inject morphs. Poser 5 "looks" in the main Runtime for the morphs no matter which Runtime you happen to be in - and then - given the system to system variability of how long it takes, it probably looks on the whole HD following whatever ranking it uses for any other sort of find function. I am betting that the logic to use your present Runtime is missing - readScipt was coded way before Poser was even considering using more than one Runtime. ReadScript is a very handy function, but given its present coding in Poser it is mostly a kludge.

Jaager, Thanks for the info. I'll try that. Finally got the body morphs to load - 30 minutes - so I think you're right...it's looking for something that is somewhere else.

M3 upgrade: If you duplicate the folder ZygotePeople and put a copy of the M1 geometry in it in Poser 5 Geometries You can get the installer to install directly into Poser 5 - even if you are still using Mike1 in your Poser 4 Runtime. The deal is - you can put the injection and remove poses in any Runtime and they will work just as fast as they do if they are in the main P5 Runtime. It is just !DAZ that must be in the main P5 Runtime. You can put V3 or M3 in satellite Runtimes - Just that one folder must be in the main. And for sanity, drag all those !M3 GROUP injection folders into !M3 All Morphs INJ and nest them same with remove.

Yes, I had trouble. Though putting a copy of the !DAZ folder in P5 worked for V3, it didn't work for M3. I ended up injecting all the morphs in PP, then saving the figure. That loads in P5. But it is kind of annoying.

randym77, Yep, I put a copy of the !DAZ folder in the other runtime as well and it still did not fix the problem. I can get the body morphs to load, but the head morphs did not load after 2 hours and I gave up. I'll have to try it your way.

That's strange. My M3 is in his own Runtime, only the !DAZ folder is in the default P5 runtime and that works fine.
