check thread below about realistic faces to see the purpose of this, not a great example its a quickie just to illustrate a point... the head is a roughin for another project im working on {its about half way there} i added a scaled down pic of the quickly done texmap at the bottom ... as you can see just adding a texmap nomater how detailed it is to a figure doesnt make the figure look like the person the topography of the mesh needs to be reasonably close

Y'all have a great day.

Jafo, the mesh looks nice. Eyebrows seem too "sharp". Very non-dork and "real" looking tho. How exactly did you translate the source images to your texture map? I agree, it seems that for a texture alone to work as a portrait the head would need to be so smoothed down to be as though it had a stocking pulled over it and the image put on that, a test I mean to try when possible.

P.s. The hair looks so good at the temples! and the nose, mouth and forehead on your mesh VERY nice.

MOM this thread is a continuation of an earlier thread. this mesh isnt anywhere near completion , it was used to demonstrate a point from that thread. those eyebrows are to be smoothed away and "Vicki" type eyebrows added i needed them to be round after smoothing is the reason they're jutting out so far... the dork brows could not be used for the face im modeling, i dont think they will work on ANY face...lol... this texture map was done in a hurry i fudged most of it... all it is is a front and a side pic{the pics i had to work with were tiny}mushed together and gaps cloned in, the top and back are just smeared brown color. with care and patience , better pics, and the right mesh this could be a super realistic map.

Y'all have a great day.

Yeah, I know the point you were making, I think its true, I never have seen individualized maps as doing much to individualize models despite what seems to be majority opinion, seems for that to be true you need to map to a lightbulb shaped mesh. But my coments regarding your mesh stand, nice regardless of who it has to do with. The map is nice too, at good resolution it would have great hair and skin, those do look like the source images further down.
