There used to be a Blood Splatter pack in freestuff but it looks to be gone now. You could use Anim8or or Wings3D (free modeling apps) and create a blob to you taste and then flatten it. Run it through UVMapper and then apply a red texture and slight reflection. You may want to also adjust the transparancy depending on your scene and lighting. If you have Bryce you can also make a terrain blob and flatten it, texture with red, export it as OBJ and use that. Examples the first method would give: (violence) http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=237001 (nudity and violence) http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=139051
Or you can draw the whole splatter in 2D, then greyscale it to make a bump map, and black-and-white-ify it to make a trans map. That way you can apply it to any surface, not just the background color of the original drawing.

Every liquid effect of that type in Poser always looked to me like round or oval globules. Kinda like in that Star Trek movie I can't remember the name of in which the Klingon ambassador was assasinated but . There are also transmapped planes with splatters on them but they have to face the camera all the time. I believe I got mine from freestuff here. IMO, for the most realistic-looking effect it has to be done in postwork. I use Photoshop.

SinSister has one of the best post-work blood tutorials I have seen, check her's out. "Blood 101" http://www.hextasy.com/ There is also another in another forum but I can't remember where or if the forum is still operational? It uses the MilDragon and the tutorial is actually for making saliva but can easily be revised for blood. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Does anyone know how to create a blood splatter effect?
Thanks
