There is nothing in the rules in the Platinum Gallery at Daz saying that you can't post somewhere else. However, that being said they do have these posted anonymously at Daz to avoid the judgement being swayed. Well people are posting their pictures here and that way people do know what pictures belong to whom. I haven't posted my picture. I know it's stupid, petty and bitchy....I don't care. I work hard on my images and it's bad enough to think that hardly anybody seems to look at their galleries to see the images there, but to think I haven't a snowball's chance of getting on Daz because people will vote for the people they know rather than the picture just p*&^#$ me off. O.k. I guess I got that off my chest....grumble...

Have you pointed out this weakness to Daz???

It's a bummer, but it seems like something that could be fixed by a change in the rules. Of course, today it is iffy that anyone is posting or viewing much in the galleries. It's been verrrrry slow on Renderosity. The popularity contest is irksome, but, you know, even if the graphics were not posted here, nothing will stop people from emailing their friends to ask for votes ("Hey, mackeral, I just posted the unicorn picture in purple...vote for me this week and you have my vote next week....")...so even if Daz changes the rules about the posting, you can't change human nature in soliciting for votes. I'd be more than pleased if I was proved wrong about that. But the Hot 20 in Renderosity has made me a cynic.

Oh I hear you on that....or that a naked Vicky out of the box with no background can get tons more hits than just about anything else. I did a pic called "Lara Croft in the Temple of the Cotton Eaters" naked Vicky...no post, badly done 100's more hits than most of my stuff. Most of the commenters didn't even get that it was a joke post....

I missed that one...love the title, however. You got to keep your sense of humor about this stuff. Unfortunately I've been told I've lost mine. But I'm sure it's sitting in a temple somewhere, waiting for me to find it again. Be sure to keep us posted on any updates. :)

Actually Daz noticed this issue and posted over at Poserpros that the images can't be shown elsewhere 'til the monthly contest is over. They need to update their site. :)

Be nice if they posted that information elsewhere. They should not depend on the notion that everyone visits every site. I don't visit every forum, that's for sure. Who has the time? Actually, I wish Daz would get their forums going so people could discuss Daz related issues in a single place, and so there was a place one could reliably direct questions related solely to Daz (instead of just saying: ask Daz). Some day.

All submissions are blindly judged (names of artists are not revealed until after the judging process is complete). All voting is done by fellow Platinum Club members only. Platinum Club members will be allowed to vote immediately following the submission period each month. The voting period extends from the 25th day of the month until midnight on the last day of the month. Each Platinum Club member is given 4 votes. Each member can only cast one vote per image.

I don't think it was your fault. They were bound to have it brought to their notice. Thanks for the update!

Wow 4 votes per memember for the month... now something like that could change the Hot 20 here at Rosity.

Would it really make any difference? I lost my optimisim along with my sense of humor over the weekend.

We have updated our Submission Instructions page to more clearly state that ALL entries MUST be anonymous and we even explained directly what that means:

Instructions:
All images in this gallery are copyrighted and owned by the artist. No image(s) may be taken or used without permission. All images accepted into the Platinum Club Gallery must include at least one product offered in the www.daz3d.com online store (including non-platinum club items). The Platinum Club Galleries are replaced annually as each new month is finished. Submitted images are posted immediately and are reviewed periodically for content by DAZ moderators. All images are initially posted without the artist's name being listed.

Image Specifications:

• All images must contain at least one Platinum Club product.
• All images need to be in JPEG format.
• All images must be submitted anonymously. This means that any images submitted must be ones that have not been posted publicly anywhere else. Also, all signatures or other identifying marks must be removed before submitting to the gallery. (The top three winners will be contacted and provided with instructions on how to upload their print quality images and may at that time add back in any signature(s)).
• Images need to be appropriate for all audiences to view. mages that are distasteful, pornographic, or of a controversial nature will be pulled immediately by staff moderators. As this gallery is viewed by people of all ages, no nudity will be allowed.
• Images must be submitted prior to midnight on the 24th of each month in order to be included in the monthly voting.

Voting:
