Subject: Vue Pro - I

After looking at Demo reel and looking at some of images on E-ONs site I am now convinced and will be getting Vue Pro. The Plant Editor, Animation features, Auto synchronization, Improved Rendering and multitude of new features have won me over. The The Feast image on Vues site was as good as any image produce by the big boy apps. Now I got go and sell some blood and then go to Park Avenue to find some rich guy to mug. :D

I love very much the following: I import a Poser figure into Vue, but finally the pose is not exactly what I wanted. I open Poser, change the pose a little, save the file under the same name then before. I go to Vue and see: it announces me that my imported file has changed and askes me if I want to load this changed file:-) Poser can stay open all the time while working or importing in Vue. Clever, clever:-)

Great!! I use poser with Vue a lot; this little feature will save me a great deal time.

Woah wait a second there! This may be a major selling point for me on a feature I didn't know existed.

So suppose I import a V3 character. But to fit in my scene I have to shrink it down and rotate it into position. Now you are saying that if I go back and change the V3 file in poser and save it I will be notified. My question is, will the new V3 be put in the same place as the old one is in now (ie, it will be shrunk and rotated to the exact same spot as the old one, just with the new pose?) :)

gebe ( ) posted Wed, 17 September 2003 at 1:52 PM

Yes, it comes out exactly at the same place. It did for me and I have done it more then once or two times. I had shrinked and rotated it.

Dang! Why did you have to tell me that? The problem of reposing over and over again has always been an annoyance for me! This is one major feature I would love to have. Now I am going to have to go out and buy this thing! :)

Although the $US100 postage hurts, this makes it even better, I'm glad I ordered the upgrade a couple of before I went to bed last night!

That import feature is a nice thing - I'm glad my copy is on order!

Just got home...Just ordered Vue4Pro.... Ooooooooh, I hope they find the magic formula for the P5 dynamics soon.....

Sentinal ( ) posted Thu, 18 September 2003 at 2:26 AM

Isn't it strange, I've been following all these vue4pro threads, reading e-on's pdf datasheet, and watching the teaser avi, all the time trying to get excited, wondering if these new features are worth the cost. Then out of the blue comes one little item that nobody mentions at all in any of the promo stuff and for me it's the clincher. I'm off to order vuepro.

Well its a Poser related feature and given the reaction some professionals have to anything to do with Poser maybe E-on didn't want to put them off ;-) Cheers Mark

"Although the $US100 postage hurts"
Woah wait a second again. Does this thing really cost $100 to ship or is that just for ultra quick next day shipping?

Anybody here from Canada have a shipping total for the cheapest(slowest) shipping mode? I simply can not afford it if it will cost an extra $100 considering I will have to pay even more on duties when it arrives.

Richard T ( ) posted Thu, 18 September 2003 at 9:33 AM

The $US100 Postage is Federal Express to Australia. With Vue I ordered it on a saturday and it turned up Thursday morning (Australian times). You don't get a choice on delivery to OZ :-)

NightVoice ( ) posted Thu, 18 September 2003 at 1:08 PM

Ah ok. :) Thanks for clearing that up. Was worried and I imagine Canada will be much cheaper. :)
