Is there anyway to use these if you don't have XFrog? I mean are they all in XFrog native format or are they .obj, .3ds, or some other format as well? Laurie

I'd like to know that as well. I could use more plants & trees in Poser/Bryce/Vue...

Yes there is!

On the Xfrog website there is a chart of supported software.
To view the chart go to: http://www.xfrogdownloads.com/greenwebNew/products/productStart.htm#
(Then click on "XfrogPlants" then "list of supported software")

For several applications, free Plugins are available to read Xfrog files directly. All Plugins support Xfrog models and animations, and XfrogPlants Libaries. By clicking on any of the software in the chart, you will be taken to a page where you can learn more about each Program, and download the Plugin if it exists.

To use XfrogPlants with applications that we do not support with Plugins, (for example, Bryce), then you need to use Xfrog or XfrogTune to export to the file format you need.

Hope that helps.

I'm not officially associated with XFrog, however, currently, these are in formats not accessbile by Poser...etc. However, you can open them in XFrog and export them as Obj, 3ds etc...

I believe that they are working to change them to include other exported versions...so I could be wrong.

I have been working on learning to use the program and would be happy to work with anyone who has some source material (reference photos as well as bark and leaf photos). I can't seem to get my camera to get unblurred pictures of bark...arg! I have a few things I've been proud of, but nothing I consider to be "Market Place Worthy" as of yet.....

I was asking because I don't own XFrog and don't intend to get it. I've tried the demo and I just can't figure it out. I do however love the plants, but unless they are directly importable into the programs I use (Poser, Vue), then I can't use them :o(. You may want to kick around the idea of releasing the plants in other 3D formats and expand your sales and customer base. Just an idea :o). Laurie

I just wanted to let you all know Xfrog is currently working on XfrogPlants Libraries for Vue, Bryce, Carrara, and Poser, and have plans to release many plants in VOB format. I don't have a time frame right now. But, I know from the Spotlight with Stewart McSherry last week, this is something that is in the works.
