Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 27 5:49 pm)
Andrew - I was responding to your earlier thread - I dont know where you are but suspect there is a bit of time difference - I am in Central Europe and it is now 1500hrs!! When I did my external runtimes, as I said earlier - I put the figures themselves into the main poser runtime, all the morphs associated with the figures - V3 and M3 are also located in the main runtime. The external Runtimes contain just the clothing items, textures, poses, and props that are associated with each character. Any "non specific" items (i.e not associated with a particyular model) i have put into the main poser runtime. I don't know if this is the recommended way, or what is the best way, and if anyone has a better idea, please feel free to share your ideas.
I put all my Victoria 3 Injection Morphs into a single folder in my Pose library, called it V3. Occassionally a character cr2 can't find it. I just open the cr2 in wordpad and do a search and replace to insert the new injection folder location i.e. V3 and then resave it. Seems to work OK for Michael 2 as well. Other than that, it seems to work fine.
I've only recently figured out the multi runtimes and am so happy now. I hated hunting through all the v stuff trying to find mikes ~G~ I suppose I could have broke it down more, but what I did is. Mike 2 and 3 have their own, everything related to them is in there. V2 and 3 the same, Koshi as well. Hair goes into the main, props into download. So far I've had no problems. My pzz files export easily into Vue etc.

Hi all In my ongoing search for the perfect runtime setup, I have come up with a couple more questions : (1) Is it better to put the Geometries and Textures files in the main Poser runtime, or in the same user-defined runtime where you put your other files ? (2) Do you put the basic V3 and M3 morph files in the main Poser runtime, or in a user-defined runtime ? ( ... I have tried the latter, but have come into strife when opening other characters based on V3, they sometimes complain that they can't find the V3 inj pose files (PZ2) - they seem to be just looking in the main Poser runtime). thanks, Andrew
