Subject: Armour problem

Hello, I just bought the SA Charger by Daz. A big fellow with lots of armour. I have two problems: 1. When using poser characters the feet are somehow attached to the ground, or at least remember where the ground is. The Charger doesn't know, so when trying to animate it it becomes very difficult to make simple moves like bending the knees and crouching. Could someone tell me if there is a simple way to make the character know where is the floor? 2. When trying to move the character, many times I catch the armour instead of the limb - resulting in moving the armour instead of the limb with the armour. How can I grab the armour and make the limb move with it as well? by the way, these questions might not be about the SA Charger but it is the first character outside of poser's usual characters that I brought. thanks, Eran. I'm not sure, but I suspect that the charger uses Inverse Kinematics in the same way that other Poser figures does. When you load a person in Poser, IK is "on" for the feet by default. Obviously it is "off" for the charger. You can turn it on in the figures menu for arms and legs separately. When it is on for the legs, the character will behave the way you want in your post. As for selecting the character or the armour: In the bottom left corner of the preview window, There is a drop down menu where you can select the active figure. Select the appropriate figure (the charger or the armour) and then the body part from the "body part" drop down menu next to it. Make sure you selct the limb, and the armour will move with it. (I assume the armour is conformed to the figure already)

Have a look at Dr Geep's posing primer for some tips on positioning legs and feet. -- Mark

thanks for the advice. personally, i find it very helpful to work with IK and the editing tools for creating animation with characters. it is in a way a bit more surprising, but quite fast and can be fixed with the controlers. could it be that the Charger doesn't have IK capabilities? it is grey on the screen - as in: this won't work. eran.
