THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Brycers beware...Vue 4 Professional is out...

foleypro ( ) posted Fri, 19 September 2003 at 7:17 AM · edited Tue, 05 November 2024 at 1:13 PM

Before you all take me out and LYNCH me just hear me out first...AND NEVER FORGET FOLEYPRO IS A BRYCER TO THE END...I mean look I just purchased Natural Pose so I can do Poser animations in Bryce...Soon we will be able to figure out the codeing for Bryce and be able to develope Plugins or....BUT until then...Maybe we will be able to export the Plants out of VUE for import into BRYCE? Ohhhh man I really hope and pray that the new owners of Bryce Decide to do something with it,For if they decide not too I will have to look at PURCHASING Vue4 Professional,It just has been announced and the options look way more impressive then regular VUE and you can animate your Plants and Tree's and design your own...Check out just some of the options below... Vue 4 Professional is actually easy to use... concentrate on what you want, not on how to do it! Create your own, unique plant species or easily modify the 30+ plant species included! Simulate and animate complete tree and plant lifecycles! Carve terrains in real-time 3D using pressure sensitive tablet (or mouse)! Preview scenes thanks to the ultra-fast dual-level OpenGL feedback! Create elaborate and realistic Shaders thanks to Vue 4 Professional's Material Editor! Modify and animate sun, clouds, stars, rainbows, fog, haze... for realistic or moody atmospheres! Use advanced animation controls (keyframing, timespline, forward dynamics, spin, vibration, motion blur...)! Create naturally "flowing" animations with automatic breeze, wind, moving clouds, twinkling stars... IS it worth the Price...We will just have to wait and see the new Pictures and animations...But it does look Promising... REMEMBER...Bryce is not DEAD just Recuperating...I pray..

Ok... I have My armor on and the Stoneing can commence...

Just means that we Brycers will have to work just a little bit harder and still show the world BRYCERS ROCK..."Ahemmm"I say as I dodge the first Projectile...

Aye, these are all features we'd like to see in Bryce, Sir Foleypro, but some of them are redundant things Bryce can already do. As for plants? Even Vue's plants are nothing compared to the few modeling apps designed specifically for doing that. Plant Studio rules, I mean it really is untouchable. Also, I've never seen a Vue tree that was any better than a Bryce tree (neither have true 3D foliage), but I'll take your word on the animation factors! But buy Vue to export stuff into Bryce? Now THAT is ridiculous!

I dont worry to much, its still Vue! Plant editor - Bryce have it already, and with photographic textures, the trees are way more realistic. Terrain editor - Bryce have it already (my wacom works fine with it) Ultra-fast preview - If its like their "ultra-fast" renderer, you can count the pixels Materials editor - Bryce have it already (and shaders, so we have Bryce Pro) :) Atmospheric editor - Bryce have it already (not sure you can animate the sun, but ive never seen a sun fly around) Dont know anything about animation so ill leave that untold. And in the previous demos of Vue ive tried, the modeling part sucked big time, especially for exact placing of small objects) Personally (for me that is), all of this is useless. If youre into nature scenes, and need to animate them, this can be a cool toy, but for indoor scenes and stills, theres nothing here, that Bryce cant already do, and from what ive seen in the galleries, a lot better. And Bryce only costs $79.95 Ill shut up now... :)

Amen Rochr.........and who needs another program to learn anyway lol. There is still no much I haven't learned how to work in bryce, even if Vector dont update it for a year or more I still have lots to explore in Bryce. Teri R (who's not gonna stone foleypro :))

I had the chance to get informations about some parts of the Bryce Pro featurelist and you can be sure NOTHING of the big ideas written there is the new vue. It only needs a kick in the ass of Corel and Vector to make dreams come true. Thomas

Want to point out, that im not flaming Foleypro. The man doesnt need Vue to create fantastic nature images. :)

I was a Bryce user first. Then it went to Corel, then Bryce 5 kept crashing on my comp, then Corel stopped producing Bryce for the Mac. I tried out Vue. Easy as pie to get Poser stuff in there- it reads .pz3s. I intend to order Vue Pro. Wind effects and posable plants/trees plus the ability to make or modify vegetation is really tempting. Would be nice if someone saved Bryce though.

I tried Vue, and while I didn't like using it, it can create breathtaking landscapes. The foliage and skies absolutely ROCK. As for indoor scenes and close-up work, I think Bryce takes the cake and eats it too. I'd give my left nut to see a Bryce6 and beyond, but if that never happens I will always use Bryce. It's become an extention of my imagination and soul.

foleypro ( ) posted Sun, 21 September 2003 at 8:08 AM

Where Sir Derjimi?I havent seen it yet...Let us see..Post the link...BTW folks I just got Natural Pose and am going to install today and start to learn it While I am setting up an animation in Poser5 to use the MetaForm program that I am Betatesting,Going to have my Poser4 Kaleasha walking thru a tunnel/cavern/Temple carrying a torch and the Volumetric Flame will be the metaforms...Cool huh....And I am already working on a Package for Brycers that will involve Volumetric Fire in Bryce(Learning from the Metaforms in Poser5)So you all might want to keep and eye on things, wouldnt you want to be able to have an animated fire/Torchfire/Dragonfire in Bryce with just a couple of clicks?
