Subject: Cinema 4D (v6) and Poser ?

hello i just got a version of Cinema 4d software (v6) as a cover disk of a magazine i use to read. my questions are: what kind of interesting uses i can make of it regarding poser stuff ? i mean what kind of interactions or cross uses ? (that's why i post the messaeg here) in a few words: how good/useful is cinema 4d for a strict poser user/hobbyist ? also i planned to try to learn basics in 3d modelling (to make simple props and so), can cinema 4d help me/be a good tool or is it irrelevant to that ? thanx (and for answers such as: load it and see yourself, well i ask because i yet did not install the software, i need to do major cleaning/backup of my drives first)

C4D R6 works quite well as a modeling app for Poser. You have the CE version from a magazine's cover CD, I assume? It's renderer beats Poser 4, but compared to FireFly, I prefer FireFly - C4D CE comes without SLA, which is an almost essential plugin for advanced materials in C4D. There is nothing in C4D CE as flexible and powerful as Poser 5's material room. Still, you can get a few nice things from C4D R6 over Poser 5, which would be very fast ray tracing, area lights and if you download the ambient occlusion plugin from my web page, you can even get a global illumination-like look.

I use C4D (XL 7 version) for my modelling now. I really like the interface and tools available for modelling. I created both my V3 Stockings and Victoria's Summer Footwear (both in my store) with it.

Cinema4D Plugins (Home of Riptide, Riptide Pro, Undertow, Morph Mill, KyamaSlide and I/Ogre plugins) Poser products Freelance Modelling, Poser Rigging, UV-mapping work for hire.

both my biker set and my new flapper dress were made in c4d so I would say yeah its an awsome tool for modeling stuff for poser, in my opinion one of the (if not The) easyest modelers to get good results out of.

Which magazine had that please?

Hi Jackson. That would be 3D world last month's issue and Computer Art magazine for October (out now) hope that helps

so you say poser 5 rendering engine is better :) but in fact i do not have p5 :) only p4, nd btw none of the poser can be used to model things... so i guess i have to gather my courage and spare time and dive into cinea4d then :) btw is there any VITAL plugins for cinema4d regarding poser use i should need to have (free and nno free plugins) ? thanx for your replies no it is not the magazine you said, it is a publication of my local country, but maybe there are commercial ties between this magazine and the house editing 3dworld...
