OK. My recent attempt to share with you the first pictures of my current work on sports didnt work, as the site (built by my son :-)) was too graphic intensive and desperately slow to load. I give it another try, at Tripod this time, having broken up the renderings to save loading time which I believe has been achieved. So, if you like, you can use the link above to go there and have a look for Im dying to hear some comments and/or suggestions before I proceed any further :-) As an appetizer here is a sample of what to expect. (And in order to prevent some prudish objections Id like to point out that in Ancient Greece athletes were competing in the nude but then of course women were unfortunately excluded (LOL)).

Ironic that Leni Riefenstal just passed away. Your image almost has a kind of Aryanesque 'Olympia' kind of feel. Very nice. Looked at your page. The poses are outstanding. You really captured the feeling of movement. Any chance of making some of the poses available in freestuff?

Imckenzie, thank you for your feedback. You are right, there is an (unintentionally) "Aryan" feeling in some of the images. (By the way... what a pitty that Riefenstal had chosen to put her genius at the service of such a horrendous cause!...) I promise that all of my poses and props would be in freestuff as soon as I get better organized with this project.

Thanks for your generosity. They really are quite nice. Riefenstal is somewhat of a puzzle. She claimed to be apolitical, which I can believe, and perhaps naieve about Hitler and National Socialism. I don't know. People, especially in their youth, sometimes get caught up in things they don't really understand and find it hard to get out. At any rate, her work stands as a testament to the power of film and, of course, a warning to all of us about how that power can seduce us.

Just a few years ago I watched a two-part interview of Riefenstal on TV. Well, I got the impression that at the age of 90 plus she was still "naive" about national-socialism, which makes her rather suspect, don't you think? Nevertheless, as you are so rightly pointing out, her work remains a legacy (and a warning).
